Thanks Tanya for posting for me.
My husband is in serious but stable condition. Fancy words that do nothing to describe the severity of the head trauma, the broken pelvis, the respirator for lungs that simply quit working (but are now trying to again) or myriad of smaller injuries he sustained. But the it's his brain that is the biggest source of worry. Everything else can be fixed. There is some discussion that wasn't made clear (and really still isn't clear) about a loss of oxygen to his brain during transport from the scene. I'm going to have to ask some specific questions about that issue, because my inlaws were given what seems like an impossible amount of time that he was without oxygen. But, they are very much in shock and my fil is very hard of hearing and could have misunderstood.
So pray for the healing of his brain and pray that I'll make good decisions concerning his care. -
I am praying for you and your husband MK: I'm sorry this has happened.

Well dang MK. I pray you're surrounded by people who are holding your hand and helping you out with your kids while this is going on.

I've had amazing support in the last few days from friends, his coworkers, our church (the Baptist one), the Episcopal church the youngest and I attend sometimes and our extended body of acquaintances from everywhere!
No really good news. He isn't waking up. That is a BIG deal because he doesn't have an obvious brain injury and his symptoms point to a diffuse axon brain injury (this is bad) of which the docs can't even begin to speculate about as to the severity or the long term prognosis.
We are holding on to faith that our God still performs miracles. I've already seen His hand on this process in a myriad of large and small ways. So we are praying for complete healing.
In the short term we need to pray that he becomes stable enough for THREE surgeries: pelvis, spine (no cord involvement, just a fusion) and face. And after that of course, we want him to wake up. (waking up would be a very good sign that this injury isn't severe. 90% of people with a severe injury of this type do not wake up according to my research. I'm not telling my children this until I have too.) -

Oh MK! I wish I was nearby to be able to help you but I can pray to our Father to do His work. ((HUGS)) Remember, where there is life, there is hope - and we have an amazing heavenly Father who is on the throne and in control. Whatever happens, He is with you all the way. :praying:

just got an update from MK
(@ 1:44pm 7/4)
"It's as bad as it gets. the docs say there is an axon injury at the junction of the lobes. They said that if he doesn't begin waking up in the next two weeks that the odds of him ever waking up drop to slim to none and we will have to decide whether to continue invasive life support and no quality of life in a nursing home or remove it and let nature take it's course." -

Praying that God will give you peace in the days ahead and that HIS will be done in all things, that you may all be a testimony to HIS greatness. Will add you to our church prayer list as well.
