More and more Iraqis are ignoring government warnings, and moving to Michigan, as ten of thousands of Michigan residents "flee" the state because of nation's highest rate of unemployment...
According to the Lutheran Social Services the migration of Iraqis to Michigan may have something to do with family ties...but, Michigan still has the nations highest unemployment rate, so, why do Muslims find Michigan to to their liking?
Could it be that there are thousands of unemployed, disenfranchised, disenchanted, and unhappy minority Americans in Michigan that are "ripe" for conversion to the Muslim religion?
Does any one else see this phenomena of an ever increasing migration of Muslims to the State of Michigan as being a strange new trek to what may be the "New Muslim Mecca" on the North American Continent?

Arabs have been migrating to the region since the 19th century (1800s) even before Ford came on the scene. It looks like the Arab-American community is highly developed there, just like the Chinatowns that are highly developed in regions like New York, San Francisco and other places where Chinese have been immigrating and bringing over families for centuries.

family ties is the number one reason why immigrants choose to go to certain areas of a country.
Filipinos mainly go to the states of California and Hawaii because that is where their relatives lived who petitioned for them, they settle down there, and when it is their turn to petition their immediate families, those states are where these relatives end up, as well.
the laws and/or processes of immigration has something to do with it as well, because when you get petitioned for, you need to put down an address where you are going, an address for your petitioner, and an address where the government can send you your documents (green card).
illegal aliens also tend to stay where they can find sympathetic friends or relatives they can stay with. -
The probable result will be the Americanizing of Islam, not the Talabaning of the US. We will corrupt them with freedom, booze, and consumer goods.

We will see in future years that Islam is one of the greatest dangers our country faces today. It is like a slow growing cancer that will not stop until the patient is dead.

You Have It RIGHT!
It is my understanding that Muslim's are already asking for the government to recognize Muslim holy days as National Holidays. It is starting slowly with requests for local governments to accept Muslim holy days, garments, head coverings, etc. Eventually, it will reach the point that it has in Europe.
The idea that American culture will corrupt the Muslims is nothing more than wishful thinking. The true Muslim "hates" the ways of the great Satan [the people of this country], and will stop at nothing to muslimize this nation. America is their last conquest, and if we allow political correctness to be our guide, we will one day wake up with the sound of loud speakers crying out to "Allah" with praise for their new country. -
We need to pray, preach the good news of salvation from sin and support those who do.
That should be our response to the influx of any non-salvific religion - whether it be Islam, Judaism, Buddhism, or whatever. -

With more Muslims here, it's easier to reach them for Christ. I know someone who used to be a Muslim. He's from Albania and several years before he came to the U.S. he became a Christian after he was reached by missionaries. He was the first Christian in his village and about 40 Muslims watched him get baptised. There are a lot of Albanian immigrants here in my home town of Jacksonville, FL and many of them are Muslim. One thing this friend of mine tries to do is reach them with the word of God and the Gospel.

I have been in Dearborn, MI. Several times, in fact. I ate at an Arabic restaurant there. The street signs are in Arabic. The call to prayer is heard from the mosques. The schools grant them segregated gym/swimming classes, whereas they did not for any other religion.
It would not be wise for us to take a head-in-the-sand approach here. Our country is being taken over and it will be our heads on the chopping block. Don't be fooled.
FTR, I work among Muslims. As a matter of fact, this afternoon I will be going to church with a whole room full of former Muslims. -

I agree that nothing will stamp out the church of the Lord Jesus Christ, but as long as Christians remain asleep concerning Islam, we might be surprised at the amount of trouble we bring upon ourselves. -
You are exactly right Robert! -
I live in Europe. The troubles that we are encountering now in my part of Europe are more a reaction to Islam than from Islam itself. In an attempt to control Muslim terrorism the rights of all 'religious' are being curtailed. If I had a fear this would be it.
Persecution is the surest sign that we are doing right. The Church of Jesus Christ has nothing to fear from Islam. The victory has been achieved!
