Was Obama's visit to late night TV host Jay Leno worth watching, or should he hunker-down and stay in the WH until he gets this AIG and national economic fiasco repaired?
While I found his visit to Leno to be an interesting concept, I personally feel he needs to leave the late night shows to Hollywood celebrities. IMHO: and it is only my opinion, it is not his job to entertain us with one liners, and trade barbs with Leno. Furthermore, his campaigning days are over....it's time to get to work. He already won the office, and he needs to stop selling his opinions, and get to work on the serious issues that are shaking this nation to its core.
Had Bush appeared on Leno, or Letterman immediately following hurricane Katrina, there would have been a national lynch mob heading to the WH that our military would have had a difficult time stopping.
I, for one, was not impressed with Obama's campaign appearance on Leno, because, it was out-of-touch with what is happening in America right now.
I was wondering how others saw this, and invite your opinions.

O, at first I thought you were saying he was trying to hit on Leno. Or then maybe he had the mob "put a hit on him."
I agree with you that the President should not be appearing on late night TV entertainment programs. It's unseemly.
Obama should follow Colonel Parker's advice to Elvis and stay away from them. -
I watched Leno but don't really have an opinion pro or con. I thought he would do more selling his plans but he was like any other guest. -
Obama's appearance on Leno is completely inappropriate for a sitting President. It's not surprising considering he has NO idea what he is doing. This guy is an arrogant JOKE! He should resign ASAP!
His comments about "Special Olympics" was very rude and he only apologized because his staff quickly brought it to his attention. -
Too many people like to say that a President should do this or shouldn't do that. The President is just another guy, like you or me, so why can't he do things that other people do? By saying that he shouldn't go on Leno you are basically putting him on a pedestal and saying he is better than the rest of us. Well, he (and every other President) isn't better than us. -
Why...Because he is the President. -
-
On a pedestal? He's not my "messiah", but it looks like you are looking for him to be yours. Economically and socially speaking, of course.
Inappropriate behavior is becoming the norm for the zero.
His very first TV interview after the election is with an Arab station. Curious, to say the least.
He takes a vacation to Chicago less than 60 days after he is elected. Must have been really tired, huh? Bush was severely castigated for finally taking a vacation in Texas almost a year after he was elected.
He shows his cheapskate side with a chintzy gift to a foreign dignitary. Embarrassing is the word.
Then he appears on a TV talk show where comedy is the norm and becomes the biggest joke of the night when he makes fun of the developmentally disabled.
Come to think of it, being a joke seems to be his most significant accomplishment to date....if one ignores the fact that he is putting your great grandchildren in debt. That's pretty significant. No other president has been able to do that so successfully and so fast.
To top it off, we now know his administration was behind the payment of huge bonuses to AIG executives, while he howls at the moon about how "unfair" they were. Can we say hypocritical liar to boot? -

Great Pick Up, Carpro
One question, my brother, why is it that I never see you author a post? You may have, and I may just be ignorant of the post, and if that's the case, please forgive me!
Any way, that was a great feedback to my post. You have a gift for the in-depth insight into the problems listed in this forum. Thanks for your post. In fact, I thank all of you who have responded thus far. God Bless You All!

Hypocritical liar to boot. And don't forget baby murderer.

If you would pay attention (I know it's hard, but try!), you would know that I don't agree with Obama on just about everything. I don't think he is a good President, nor did I vote for him. My comments are about this topic (I know that's hard to understand since you and many others are determined to never stay on the topic). The point I am making is that the President should be able to go on a late night show. Why is it a big deal? Why is the office of President so sacred that the man holding that office is unable to participate in things such as a late night show? -
That's right. If the thread mentions the name Obama we need to make sure to put in the baby murderer comment. Where would we be without you LadyEagle?
(to stave off yours and others comments, yes I beleive he is guilty of murder based upon his votes to support abortion. No, I don't think that we have to turn every single stinking thread into that topic.) -
I friend of mine might call it "purposeful ignorance".
Seems to fit. No one could be that stupid. -
Would you mine explaining it to me? Why can't the President do something like go on a late night show? Why is the office so sacred? My Lord and Savior came to this earth and walked, ate, slept, and associated with the common man all the time. Is the President of the United States more important than Him? -

We really do not need to be comparing Odrama with Jesus. -

If you think either one is acceptable you have bigger problems than reading comprehension. -
All I'm asking for anyone of you to tell me is why is it so wrong for the President to go on a late night talk show? In response to that question, I (or my statements) have been called stupid, lacking of legitimacy, irreverent, and showing poor judgment.
What a way to debate! You can't answer the questions so you attack them or me. Nice! -
