It was indeed a great show though - even the Irish agree.
Although the 15 minute adulation of the terribly broken NHS seemed way out of place. -

I thought the children siging the UK national anthem was very moving.
And I laughed heartedly at Mr. Bean. He is so funny. I love to watch him.
The Brits have a wonderful sense of humor ... and the Queen letting them pretend she parchuted out of a helicopter was oh so rich. -

What a Difference Four Years makes.....
....four years ago, we watched an impressive techno/firework show from a nation that still suppresses its people's freedom.
Last night we watched a show of similar technology and beauty, but we could see the difference between a society and nation that practices freedom versus one that locks down the freedom of its people.
While both countries had well scripted and beautifully choreographed shows. I could see a glaring difference in the attitude of those participating in the London show. A difference that could be seen, sensed, felt and nearly tasted. I'd gladly live in a free nation than one that suppresses freedom to the point of killing any dissenters.
Way to go London...
And once again, "thumbs down" to the folks who made the decision to use child labor [in China] to make our US Olympic Team uniforms. I cringed from embarrassment when I thought about who made these outfits. What a travesty. When we have Americans clamoring for work, to use a forced labor nation, Americans did not do themselves proud. :tear: -

I Wonder if that Was a Political Statement in Support of Obamacare?

The copper leaves rising to form the Olympic torch was incredible. I saw some of the Opening Ceremony and it definitely had a wow factor - those Brits did it up right.
But, ya know, I was thinking to myself. This is probably one of the best shows mankind has to offer and it was fantastic. Yet, we can't even imagine what God has in store for us when Jesus Christ returns. We just can't even imagine. I praise God for His Majesty, Greatness, Awesomeness, and Goodness!! -

The NHS scenes were a dig at our government's healthcare reforms, not a support of Obamacare.
But apparently NBC edited out the tribute to the tribute to the 7/7 victims on the grounds that Americans wouldn't understand it! Why? Imagine if it was the New York Olympics andthe BBC had edited out references to 9/11! -
Why were not the Israeli olympians murdered in Munich not mentioned anywhere in person or on TV is my question. -

I guess the opening ceremony was showcasing Britain hence no mention of the 1972 outrage. There have been discussions about whether to hold a minute's silence later in the Games to mark the 40th anniversary of Munich but I don't know whether any decision has been reached.
