The one on sincerity doesn't make sense. If you sincerely believe something you're honest about it, right? And if you're sincere about not believing in something, well, you should be! I don't get the question, so I just said yes. (that's gotten me in lots of trouble in my life btw!
:D

The one about the proving the bible wrong is a bit open ended.
The mustard seed is not the smallest seed but is called so in the gospels, does that make the bible wrong?!?!
No, the seed illustration is trying to make a point not commumicate scientific information.
The bible is a religious book not a science book.
the bible doesnt say it is the smallest seed in the world does it?
and the bible is more then just a religious book it is in fact the word of God.
i think your position is dishonoring i dont like it.
With regard to Mother Theresa, how can one
answer about the condition of another's soul?
What proof do we have that she was not a
believer?
What proof that she was?
I know of
nothing, other than that she gave and gave and
gave, and she encouraged others to do the same.
mother t
had
universalistic beliefs they are easy to come by if you do a search
you will see she also believed in buddism or any other religion as a way to heaven if a person was sincere. she was not a Christian according to documented statements that she has made and she also believed in purgatory and she kept
many who were suffering and dying from medicine that would relieve some pain believing that their suffering would help in the payment toward their sin.
unless sometime on her dying bed she turned to Christ only, then i would have to judge by documentation that she was lost.
the roman catholic church struggled with her cafeteria style beliefs.
by the way many liberal religionist would say she is a Christian
Here are answers that more accurately reflect my point-of-view:
Unity and love are not the same thing.
Unity is very important, but certain essential doctrines need to be stressed above unity.
Correct doctrine is useless without love.
You must believe in Jesus as the Son of God come in the human flesh to be a Christian.
Homosexual temptation is not a sin. Homosexual sexual acts and lusts are sin. Heterosexual temptation is not a sin. Heterosexual sexual acts outside of marriage are sin.
There is no one good (in their own merit) except God alone. Faith in Christ is our calling.
She was an excellent example of service to humankind. I do not know her heart.
Good science needs to freely explore the world without theological constraints. Truth is not the enemy of Christ. On the other hand, the Bible is not a book of science.
It is wrong to make science and faith enemies.
Sincerity is utter honesty... it involves belief.
If you are sincerely wrong, you are still wrong.
Fairly
easy poll for this home boy.
False all the way.
Was only surprised that so many baptists would think of Mother Teresa as a "good christian". Methinks we have been brainwashed into accepting a view of "good christian" that corresponds to social works without true born-again christianity!
I know this is for another thread, but that is debateable (sp?) at best.
That said, I voted no, not because she was Catholic, but from what I understand, which is very limited, she encouraged faith in other religions apart from Christianity.
I would hardly say that someone who is Catholic is automatically not a Christian.
I know many Baptists that if they were the only ones focused on many people would say that being Baptist is not being a Christian.
Disagree majorly, Gina.
They are "good works", but not Christian.
Anything that is done apart from a direct relationship with the Gospel is most certainly a "good work".
But in no way "Christian".
Christian good works center in Christ.
Maybe you should be reading your bible instead of writing stupid polls Mt. 13:31 and Mark 4:31
No, it's not and I didn't say anthing questioning whether or not the bible is the word of God.
If anyone is dishonoring God it is YOU for judging me based on a poll that is poorly worded and designed only to see who agrees with you, not to really foster any honest debate.
I answered every question and agreed with the majority on every single question…. I don’t always think the majority is right, but this was a good poll….
I suppose some would think that the Mother Teresa question was the toughest….. I happen to think that she was the good Samaritan who believed in Christ, and her works do follow her…..
