I wonder what will the next generation say about the current generation in leadership?
Have you ever been in a highly evangelistic church that did not give an invitation? The most evangelistic church I have seen does not give an invitation but you will not get out the door until someone asks about your spiritual condition. They disciple people and part of that, is learning to share their faith. Each year they send out about two percent of their congregation as full
time missionaries. Most of them go to other countries.
There is nothing...nothing whatsoever
about going down an aisle, going up an aisle, going down the basement, going to the fellowship hall,,,, that does anything .
The Holy Spirit deals with a human spirit anywhere. No physical action gives spiritual life......even a hearing ear comes from God.
the message preached should be the invitation....if people have to tack things on it...it was lacking in some way.
When God convicts and effectually draws a sinner...they know it.
Very good and it's actually something I agree with. At least if a man isn't sincere He isn't going to stand up in church and lie with out the whole church knowing it,, is he?. Now wait a minute..... Or isn't he. Actually no one really knows if one is saved the moment he says he is because, no man on earth can see the man's heart.

As I said above, I prefer to use the Lord's Supper for the altar call. I find that scenario in Acts.
As they ate together and remembered what the Lord did (the gospel) people were added to their numbers.
As the church "takes the table to remember their Lord's actions on their behalf," you take Christ if He is drawing you to Himself!
