Oh that's a word that is thrown about here all the time, mostly by those folks who follow one man who founded his new faith tradition around the 16th/17th century. Who are they to judge is all I can really say.
Which begs the question, "What is a cult?" For religious purposes, a cult is any denomination, sect, or religious system which does not follow the Scriptural doctrines about Jesus Christ as being the Son of God, Himself God, & the only One who can save us from the penalty for our sins, & forgive them, & make us citizens of His kingdom.
Cults may be absolutely non-Christian, such as moonies or Bhuddists, or pseudo/quasi-Christian, such as the Jabroney False Witlesses, "having a form of godliness but denying its POWER". There's a cult for just about every non-Christian idea out there.
Centrist, when making a post on what another person said- its best to use the "reply" button so the individual and others as well,
know to whom you are speaking.
1 Cor. 6:2Do you not know that the saints will judge the world? And if the world will be judged by you, are you unworthy to judge the smallest matters?
You mean scripturally, from Day 1 of Creation of the earth (Genesis 1)?
or from the time God created the angels in Heaven, "that existed for ages" before that?
Where in the Bible does it say we (or you) have any right to judge?
And where does it say that Baptists can do this, what about the Pentacostals and Methodists or even the Mormons?
If this is the standard level of 'baptist' integrity, in blatantly being allowed to accuse Seventh-day Adventists of teaching a false Jesus and false Gospel (without Admin/Moderation correction), in spite of the multitudinous contrary evidences posted in this and other forums for years, well, all I can say is I am glad I am not such an 'baptist', nor adhere to such a skewed worldview.
What the 'baptist' (at leased called by themselves as such, so I do not include all that use that designation here, as there a many wonderful baptist persons, lovely Christians) in this reply is stating in no uncertain terms, is that all Seventh-day Adventists are not Christians (let alone the other people in the other two groups mentioned).
And I, & several others, proved SCRIPTURALLY that Jesus is NOT Michael !
Jude
8 Likewise also these dreamers defile the flesh, reject authority, and speak evil of dignitaries. 9 Yet Michael the archangel, in contending with the devil, when he disputed about the body of Moses, dared not bring against him a reviling accusation, but said, “The Lord rebuke you!”
But JESUS said,in John 8:44,You are of your father the devil, and you want to do the desires of your father. He was a murderer from the beginning, and does not stand in the truth because there is no truth in him. Whenever he speaks a lie, he speaks from his own nature, for he is a liar and the father of lies.
So, JESUS brought a reviling accusation against the devil, something Michael wouldn't dare do. So SCRIPTURE destroys EGW's "Jesus =Michael" garbage.
