At least Mr. Bush added his form of humour to the shoe throwing incident. David Letterman will have a picnic with Mr. Bush's response.............maybe we should too, even though I realize it could have been a bomb too!
We had a prime minister get a pie in his face during a campaign. I'm not sure is was a flavour to his liking either.
Bless your little pea pikin heart.
Like you I sit my self righteous self on the stool rather than stand on it so I won't have far to fall.
At my age standing on a stool, self righteous or not, is dangerous.
Looking at your beard I suspect the same goes for you.
I think you have the right idea, Jim. We non-right-wingers ought to just go along with the right-wingers and agree with them that we are communists. Maybe it will make them happy - finally.
I think it is dispicable for anyone to throw shoes at any POTUS whether we agree with him or not.
It makes me sick that after all the lives and blood and treasure spilled over there to that bunch of ingrates, this even happened.
I would feel the same way if it was BHO.
We certainly haven't thrown any shoes at any Arabs when they came to visit our country, including the idiot leader from Iran when he was here.
It kinda makes me think the ingrates deserved Saddam.
And yes I'm angry.
LE, I agree with you for the most part on this, but I would say that perhaps our invasion wasn't wanted in the first place. Imagine if China invaded us. I might be tempted to throw a shoe at the Chinese premiere. We were not universally seen as liberators.
I wouldn't count on it, Ken. However, I have always liked the old Soviet National Anthem. It is quite a beautiful and majestic piece of music. Sad that it represented such a bad regime. There is a version by the United States Navy Band, along with others on Wikipedia.
