I wear both skirts and pants during the week or on Sunday. It depends on what's clean, what jobs I have on Sunday or during the week and what the weather is. I tend to wear more skirts in the summer and more pants in the winter to church. It just depends.... -

BBob, -
Pants in England are women's dainties, and when I was younger, it was quite improper to even mention pants in mixed company.
A lot of things change over the years.
Cheers,
Jim -
I have two oft-repeated principles regarding dress (remember, I work with youth/young adults):
1. I unashamedly admit I have a double standard with regards to dress. Case in point: a couple of years ago, I had a kid in church whom I knew had never, in his life, ever set foot in a church. He was wearing a shirt with rather coarse langauge on it. I didn't say a word. Two weeks later, when he returned (his 3rd trip) wearing the aforementioned shirt, I pulled him aside, gave him a free youth ministry T-shirt, and dealt with it...gently.
Had that been one of my leader kids, we would have handled it immediately, and I would have probably fussed at them a bit. I'll cut lost kids much more slack than saved kids that are in leadership.
2. I use the mantra, "clean, neat, and modest." For me, that's sufficient...and for our church, we feel that covers it. If the apparel meets the "clean, neat, and modest" standard, it's all good as far as we are concerned. -
How is it she puts 'em on backward 80% of the time???
Another unsolved mystery...and another hijacked thread. Sorry. -
We certainly had 2 wardrobes. We were never allowed to wear our Sunday clothes through the week, unless special occasion. The early church? The priests and others did have special robes. I have never read anything on the congregation itself, that I recall.
We didn't have much, we went barefooted in the summer, we received 3 new outfits for school. Sunday go to meeting clothes, I remember suits that were given to me that were 3 sizes to big, Mother cut them down, but they still looked terrible. "oh, the good ole days". I have put cardboard in my shoes to cover the holes, but polish the tops, with meatgrease....:) Dogs lick me all way to church and back....;)

There is no such word in standard English as "prolly"!
The correct word is "probably"!
BTW, you are not the first one I've noticed here on BB who has used the expression "prolly." I'm not sure from where people have gotten that word, but it's not from an standard English dictionary. :BangHead:
I suppose they got it from the same dictionary that instructs people to use the word "it's" (which is a contraction meaning either "it is" or "it has") as the possessive form of the pronoun "it," (i.e., "of or belonging to it"). The correct possessive form of "it" is "its."
Or perhaps they got it from the same dictionary that tells people to misspell "judgment" by inserting the letter "e" between the letters "d" and "g" (i.e., "judgement").
END OF RANT! WE NOW RETURN YOU TO YOUR REGULARLY SCHEDULED THREAD! -

So are we text messaging here on BB?
If we are, then all I have to say is:
GTG, CU LTR  -
I mean, Bitsy------who deserves the Section 8 more??? Klinger or Burns??? -

"To measure someone's spirituality by the clothes they have on is what James was writing against."
Did someone do that in this thread? Must have missed it or possibly that other sin of false accusation ..... naaaaaa not on this board
Tiny Tim wearing shorts - that is toooooo much information  -
No... I didn't see it on this thread.. but knowing the history of these types of threads on BB over the last 5 yrs... I thought it would be wise to give this tidbit as preventive maintenance! lol

I don't wear skirts. I will wear dresses, but hate skirts.

liberty
This is a liberty question, in my opinion. -
Well I've read the whole thread and decided Ed is the funniest guy here. I guess I have not changed my mind, I would not wear a skirt or dress to church or anywhere else. Men or women should dress decently and modestly in or out of church.
-
I've been told that I look fat in a skirt, so it's jeans or shorts for me.
Actually the ladies where I go wear everything from dresses to semi shorts and it varies from Sunday to Sunday and person to person.
