I wonder if we have to wait a month before commenting on his life and death.

Well, you have to balance that out with ALS, which might add 12-18 months.

    ALS...and then hell.

    Ouch.

I bet no one on this board has an insult that can top that for sheer misery inflicted.

"Do I have any pleasure in the death of the wicked,” declares the Lord God, "rather than that he should turn from his ways and live?

So did I. I prayed for him for years. It broke my heart this morning when I read of his death. I knew where he had gone. He was brilliant - in an Einstein sort of way - and like Einstein, he was wrong on some things. Both scientifically and spiritually.

As I said to someone this morning, all I can do now is to pray for his family and that his death won't be a stumbling block to their own relationship with God. They need to be saved, too.

He did have a knack for bringing physics down to the popular level. I have a couple of his books at the house, and thoroughly enjoyed them.

He was a great communicator of science...like Sagan and Tyson. Sad day for his family.

Science: when we watch Cosmos or Planet Earth or any science and nature show really, what do we--those who are alive in Christ--see? We see the hand of the Living God in His role as the Great Designer, Creator and Sustainer God, we see evidence that what we believe is true, we see evidence of the Genesis account as literal and factual.

But we see it that way because Christ allows us to see it that way, and in that sense, He allows us to see Him as well.

Dr. Hawking never got to see his Creator that way, and now He has to deal with the Righteous Judge.

And it's supposed to grieve us when that happens.

It's only eternity we're talking about.

No, I cannot be sure. I am not God. All I can say is what I saw evidence of, but not being God - I didn't see all the evidence.

I suggest you all reserve eternal judgment leaving it to God alone.

True, but he denied that there was a God, as the Universe pretty much self created itself, was eternal in a sense!
