It is a good summation of the bene esse of KJVO. Same sophistry, same human-centered ear-tickling. I'll take God's Word instead.
-
I'm with Tom. Nothing but the same recycled propaganda.
-
There are too many errors in that article. For instance, it is claimed that the KJV N.T.is "entirely based on the TR." No, it is primarily based on the TR;it deviates in a quite a number of places. Sometimes it's not based on any Greek text.
The bottom line is the opinion that it's "the most accurate and reliable translation in the English language." That claim is not much for a KJVO'er to hang his hat on. -
Yes, same KJVO territory, many inaccuracies.
i.e. It is claimed that the underlying Greek TR is the 1516 text of Erasmus but the publishers of the TR which underlies the AV (The Trintarian Bible Society) say
"the last two editions of Stephens (Stephanus) were the chief sources of the English Authorised Version of 1611".
Z-Z-Z-Z-Z-Z.

Sad to spend such time supporting bad man-made theology instead of lifting up the glory of God.
Expected, but still sad. -
It is indeed expected:
For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but wanting to have their ears tickled, they will accumulate for themselves teachers in accordance to their own desires, and will turn away their ears from the truth and will turn aside to myths (2 Tim 4:3-4) -
Any time there has been changes there have been antagonists present. The KJV was not always accepted.

I came across this OP website, when I was viewing the webpage of a friend of mine who is now a missionary in the Pacific.
John was a member of our church in Wildflecken, Germany. We had a pastor come in who was KJR*. It seems he was upset at a German missionary who (was scheduled to preached B4 he came) spoke at our church but did not use the KJV. At the next business meeting - the pastor convinced the church not to support him because the missionary (to the Germans) did not use the KJV for English speaking services. :tear:
When I initially sat down and spoke to the prospective pastor upon his arrival in Wildflecken, about the first thing I asked him was his testimony. He told me he had joined the Navy, got into drugs (and trouble) found the Lord and God delivered him from drugs.
Thats it, nothing about the blood, repentance ect.:tear:
But the church wanted him as pastor. Two years later, he had just about destroyed the church and a new pastor from BIMI came in to re-establish Fellowship Bap.

"I'll take God's Word instead" Where can we find God's Word? Which translation should we read and study; or does it really matter which one, since they all claim to be the right one.
"That claim is not much for a KJVO'er to hang his hat on" What are we to hang our hat on? Surely God would not allow his children to wander aimlessly through life without any guidelines; like a ship on the ocean without an anchor or rudder.
"It is claimed that the underlying Greek TR is the 1516 text of Erasmus but the publishers of the TR " Who are these publishers of the TR and where can I find out about them?
"Sad to spend such time supporting bad man-made theology instead of lifting up the glory of God" Which translation reveals the TRUE theology; where we can find the glory of God.
I willing admit that I know very little about the various translations. But I do know that one day I will stand before an all knowing and all just God and be judged. Wonder which translation he will use to show me what He told me to do and not to do? HOPE I PICKED THE RIGHT ONE!!

All translations tell you what to do. The only differences is the words chosen to say it. I can tell someone how to get to my house dozens of different ways by changing the words I use, but they will all bring down the same roads and to the same turns; it is the same for the various translations. Trying to build up some super-duper argument of why any one translation is supposedly better or more holy is just a waste of time and breath... it goes to show the folly of man,not the glory of God. -
By the way, would you have been content with his salvation testimony?
One other thing, which translation would you have used in 1492?

Okay, I know you don't like to consult various translations because that would confuse you -- as you have said in the past. You really have no basis to make such an unbiblical judgment call.
Taking the CottonPatch,Message, the old Living Bible,NWT,RCV, The Message out of the picture --- what English translations are not the Word of God? And your task will be rather audacious. -

"Trotter's Reply: Funny thing is, God won't use a translation. He will speak Himself. he won't even use Hebrew or Greek. God will speak His words without having to be limited by our finite means of communication. We will have perfect understanding of everything He says. Translations will be no more for there will be no need of them for all of eternity."

"God won't use a translation" My question is sill unanswered!! How is God therefore going to render judgment? Surely the individual should know what they are being judged for and the law was available for him to know what was right and what was wrong.
John 12. 48: He that rejected me, and receiveth not my words, hath one that judgeth him: the word that I have spoken, the same shall judge him in the last day. -

I also never said that. I said when various people in the SAME Bible study use different translations, it causes confusion. I've seen it. Please be honest when you post about someone, thank you. -
