Also edifier...eating a raw onion will help you cough. But you have to cough the junk up. Jim's thing of vinegar for the throat is true. I get strip throat at the drop of a hat, and this works.

I will be so glad when Betty gets done with son's condo...miss her. Maybe she can fix Edifier up!

I walked my mile today and then a little more. I always think when I walk. and I guess I wasn't done thinking. I will walk the other mile tonight. It started raining. But I kept going.

    Hello everyone!! [IMG]

I think we have all of our computers running again at work except for one that is rarely used. We still don't know how the lightning got into our network. I didn't even take a lunch break yesterday. I just had a friend stop and get me a meatball sub that I took about 3 minutes to eat. Today seems to be going good so far.

We had some rain this morning but it seems to have stopped for now. I think it is supposed to keep raining through the end of the week.

Wisdom Seeker...did you ever see the Gumbo recipe I posted in the ladies Forum, I did that just for you, and blackbird. Well ok...for anyone who wanted it.

Thanks Blackbird for saying something to calm me a little. Dan goes to the doctor again today to do some blood tests after fasting. I'm not exactly worried, but his family does have a long history of diing of this type of cancer and so I can't just exactly not think about that either.

Rod glad you got your computers working again. That must have been strange to deal with that sort of electical damage. I didn't know that lightning could get past serge protectors.

Do you think there is a corelation to the insanity of some of the people on the B.B. and the lunar eclipse tomorrow? Seems that some of the people on the board have completly gone around the bin recently. Lost their minds I tell ya! [IMG]

My kids are home early from school...so I'll check with you all later.

Oh and Sherrie, I want to ask you something...please check your p.m.'s a little later. No, Sherrie, I didn't see it yet. I try to stay out of the woman's forums...I don't think the woman really like me much around here. I'll go check it in a minute though. Thanks.

    Laurenda ;)

Does that include me? I'm just being Scottish, but in the north east of Scotland they are really "looney"

(BTW looney is a term in the NE Scotland meaning "boy")

    yours, Jon.

Boy? Really? I love it when you tell us the differences in language....Why do you call boys looneys?

Here it's a shortened form of Lunatic or lunacy... Intermittent mental derangement associated with the changing phases of the moon. I spelled it Loony because of Loony Tunes...which is a type of cartoon.

And no Jon, of course I didn't mean you, I didn't mean silly I meant criminally insane. There are a couple of people on the board who are just a little scarey...and I thought, hmmm, I wonder it that's why? ;)

But really...there is supposed to be a lunar eclipse tomorrow...I saw it on the news.

    Good Night Followinghim...sleep well. [IMG]

I've seen what time you come in her Jon...It's usually around 4:00 in the morning my time. [IMG] Of course someone on the East Coast might be here that early...it would be 7:00 or 8:00 am for them. ;)

That is not universal through out Scotland but largely around the Aberdeen area in the north east. Every where else in cotland we would have the same understanding as you.

Generally the Aberdonian would refer to a girl as a cwain and a boy as a loon. However, often they put an eeeeee sound on the end of all the words. Hence looneys.

Puzzled me the 1st time I was in that area as I looked for the madman they were talking about

    yours, Jon.

    Jon said;

We have a similar one: The early worm gets caught by the bird.

    Good night, Jon.

Sorry I missed this Laurenda. I have been in and out of here so much the last couple of days. Will most definitely be praying for him. Keep us posted. And just know that you can always talk to me! :D Have you posted something for him in the prayer request forum?

Got to get going again. Looks like I'm still going to be in and out of here like the wind. My youngest is having a birthday tomorrow. She turns 11. And my oldest turns 14 on the 23 of May. So I will be going crazy here for a few weeks. My kids aren't babies anymore!!!!! [IMG]

Everyone have a great evening, and God bless!

A man from church gave me a ride to help me move my stuff from my old apartment to keep in the church as long as I need to. He had a Chevy S-10 pickup, and I was able to put everything in with room to spare [IMG] What was not already in bags I was able to put in plastic bags. I also signed away the title to my Mustang, because the insurance adjuster told me it would cost more to repair than what it's worth. I handled this quite well. I thought I would even cry a little by saying goodbye to the Mustang. But I have started reading the newspaper and tabloids, looking for a car and a place to stay.

It's supposed to rain tonite and tomorrow. For some strange reason I am not afraid of tornadoes. I feel like the emotional outbursts I have are not directly related to seeing another tornado or hearing another siren, but rather they're related to the stress I have encountered the last 10 days. Hopefully, I will be working tomorrow in Memphis.

Praying that things would be well with Dan and his tests, as well as Ed and his desire to feel better.

I just plugged my computer and phone back in. The tornado warning for our town is over. They are still on for other counties in IL. We got wind, heavy rain, and hail.

I wonder if the Lunar Eclipse tomorrow night has anything to do with all these tornadoes?

You surely know by reputation that a true Aberdonian would never send money to someone else with out expecting a bargain in return

Laurenda, I pray that my tornado chasin' buddy will get a fine report.

Speakin' of fastin' before those sort of tests--my wife's Granddaddy was goin' for one of those lower GI's and had to fast after midnight the nite before. Ya'll know all about that type test, don't 'chaw!??

Anyway, he shows up for the test the next day--keep in mind now, no food since midnite!! He goes to the back and the little nurse says, "Mr. Holmes! We're afraid to tell you this but the doctor is sick and can't do the test today!! Come back tomorrow! Meanwhile, you better not eat anything today or else you'll have to drink that "go-lightly" stuff all over again!!"

So Granddaddy don't want to drink that liquid chalk again--so he goes home and doesn't eat!!

Next day he shows up for the test and goes to the back with the nurse. The tech tells him, "Mister Holmes! We don't know how to tell ya this but our machine is broke down! Can you come back tomorrow??!!"

Three days without food! The next day everything is finally in order at the doctor's office--he goes through the test with flyin' colors and then my wife and her momma carries him over to the nearest Hardies'--and he buys himself the biggest hamburger that Hardies' has!! He went around for three days after that sayin' to everybody he would meet---"Best hamburger I ever had!!!"

True story from a Cajun that use to live deeeeeeeeeeeeep down in the Louisiana swamps!!
