Some Independent Baptist churches are ok with different translations, Some are ADAMANTLY OPPOSED and will kick you out for bringing in a "Devil's version" of the Bible. Some think that the KJV is doubly inspired and that it clears up any miss understandings in the Greek/Hebrew copies.
If you want to use a more contemporary version that may be closer to the KJV and thus easier to follow along during teaching and preaching services you might try the NKJV.
Or, even better, if you use a electronic device in church try the WEB. It is only available in electronic format but is an excellent translation and will make it easier to follow along.
I use YouVersion but I have kids and like then see me reading from a paper bible or when I read to them like when we go on hikes and stop for some bible reading
R.L. Allan is a publisher of high-quality Bibles in several versions.
While I use mostly the ESV, you might take a look at the Lexham English Bible. I'm liking it more and more; the ESV and the Lexham are the ones I alternate using on YouVersion and e-Sword.
Not just a publisher but the maker of probably some of the finest Bibles out there.
My husband got one for his ordination as a gift from the church.
That Bible is gorgeous!
I ride horses so know good leather (saddles are worth thousands of dollars) and this Bible smells as good as my saddle.
