If I am not mistaken Reagan was a baptised member of the Church of Christ.
If that is so......it's in the blood not the tub.
No.

God judges the heart, Bartimaeus. Let's leave it at that, knowing the Judge of the whole earth will, indeed, do right.

May Ronald Reagan rest safely in the loving arms of Jesus this day. -
Reagan was a baptised member of the Disciples of Christ, who, by his day, had ceased to be baptismal regenerationists, and he came up before their theology went liberal.

Amen, Helen!

To be honest with you, it really doesn't matter now. That is in the hands of God now.

If you read some of his writings, especially his love letters to Nancy, you can't help but think he is was a Christian.
I was blessed to serve under President Reagan while in the US Special Forces (US ARMY). I am convinced he was a man of God, making the Lord an important component in running this country on a daily basis, in the same caliber of Washington and Lincoln.
He lead a good, Christian life and I am also convinced God blessed him with a long life because of this.
I look forward to meeting him in Heaven! -
I personally believe that He was Born Again.
He also was the greatest President in my lifetime.
I believe that he was a servant of the Lord as He served our Country. -
How can we possibly know. We could ask the same question about any poster on this thread and the answer would be that only that person and the Lord can really know.
I don't like human judging of an individual's salvation.
I am grateful for what he did for the world. -

I don't know. I wasn't there when God wrote the names of His people in His book. But, from what they say about him, I pray he is.

Ronald Reagan was a great man and a great President. I do believe he was born again, partly due to a letter he wrote to one of my family members.
On judging:
Matthew 7:20
Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them.
I Cor 2:15
But he that is spiritual judgeth all things...
I believe it is OK to question one's salvation before and after they are gone. It can encourage us to win other souls to the Lord before it's too late. -
I think this is a fruitless discussion.
Only God — and RR now — knows the answer. -
i remember an interview once when rr was asked if he was born again, and his reply went something like this, he said i don't know about being born again but i believe in God.
this comment didn't sound encouraging -
The term 'born again' denotes charismatic in many areas of the U.S. and that might explain his answer.....
I certainly admired the man and pray he and his family know Jesus as Lord and Savior!

i admired him also. if he was referring to not being a charismatic, then that could explain alot.

The problem with politicians --- you don't know what they say is politically motivated or true from the heart. Ronald Reagan was the best Statesman in the last half of the 20th century, I hope that his words were true of the heart and not just for political points. I know he wrote a book on Prolife which I was impressed by so I think he was.
His wife is far more liberal---I just read an article saying that she is in favor of stem cell research because of it's usefullness in Alzheimers and Parkinsons disease. I hope that she didn't represent RR's heart on this issue. -
I know that when the news came out about Nancy R using an astrologer to time Reagan's trips and meetings, it was a big boost for astrologers. As a professional astrologer at the time, I was very happy about this. I got my photo and an interview in the Atlanta Constitution and Journal and astrologer in general picked up that year due to this. I read that Reagan didn't mind the astrology, but I don't know if that was true or not. As a non-Christian at the time, I did not see Reagan as a Christian - just as a right-winger that the Christians liked.

In his bio, his profligate drunken father was contrasted to his godly mother who was "evangelical" and raised Ronnie in the faith of Jesus Christ.
That alone would be a good testimony of salvation. Not that I'm worried about it. It probably is not even for us to speculate.
