Such separations from worldlyness should be supported with good Biblical explanations. When the Biblical reasons are not provided then I too will have a problem with a view. Romans 14:1.

Yes, often our only answer is "Well, my church (pastor - ect) believes.....)
but the correct answer is "I Believe"

Such local church standards depends on matters whether they are bring imposed in what degree. Those in some level of church leadership, on the rank and file members, or in some way upon church visitors to continue to come there (which I have never heard of).
