Several local radio talk show programs are holding rapture parties as they count down to see if Harold Camping's prediction of the "rapture" materializes.
Of course, if Camping is right, and the rapture takes place, those who mock this possibility, will actually not see the bodies of believers dematerialize right before their eyes!
Any ways, here we go again. Another date with destiny, and one more incident that the world will use to cast dispersion toward the legitimate believers and the church as a whole. We will live through this, but, Camping is making a mockery of himself with his irrational predictions and theological explanations.
The problem is, each time Camping makes these idiotic predictions, the world "lumps" all believers into his camp (forgive me for the pun!).
Camping is doing more damage than good, and I for one will be happy to see Saturday October 22, 2011 come and go. Maybe this will shut Camping up, but, then again. He may have another date to pull out of his sleeve!

Well----let me ask you, RD
Why do you keep up with Camping??? I mean----he's so cotton pickin' wrong all the time
I mean---a "Countdown" to the Rapture??????????? Come on!!!!!!
What do you suppose would happen----if say----folks gathered around over there at Cape Kennedy for NASA's latest launch----and they get down to the final " .. 5, 4, 3, 2, 1" and
NOTHIN'
Rockets don't fire
There's no smoke
There's no thunder comin' from the exhaust ports
NOTHIN'
And that happened---time after time after time again-----it'd start wearin' thin for the spectators, wouldn't it??
The spectators go home-----and some nutt starts firein' off letters to NASA demanding an explaination
I mean----why do you watch Camping----why are you still a spectator??
I'm not being ugly or nothin'----but why spend so much time on Camping's #'s crunch toward RAPTURE-----knowing all along that no one can "crunch" the # for a "twinkling of an eye"??????????? -
Remembering the 91st birthday of my sweet grandfather who passed away in early September. If the Father chooses to take me home that day, it would be wonderful, but I'm not going to put money on it.

I'll be teaching my 2 Bible classes at the local Christian school first thing in the am, then on to the church for the rest of my responsibilities. No different than any other Friday (during the school year, that is).
Oh, and telling my sister "Happy Birthday." -
Probably going on a fast so that I can eat guilt-free at the next evening's (Saturday) volunteer fire dept fundraiser dinner. Most of the guys are Mennonites and their wives put on quite a spread including all their best dessert recipes. It can get quite caloric over there.
-
I'll be working at church then home to do homeschooling. Just a normal Friday!
-
I'll be reading news websites that cover the failed predicton.
Is that 6pm Harold Camping's town time? People all 'round the world were commenting things like "it's 7 pm and I'm still here..." -
Since it will be Friday, I guess I'll fry something. When I was a kid in school that's the reason I thought the cafeteria had fried fish every Friday.
-
I will be having a great big garage sale everything in the house goes - and all the profits - I will leave to a Presidental Candidate - Not sure which one - any suggestions?

Calm Down Blackbird....
In fact, on the Christin talk show, I learned something about Camping's latest prediction that I didn't know (which means I don't follow that fool like you assumed) before. I guess after the last prediction failed to come to pass, no one could be saved any more, because God was holding a rush to judgment! That is how he explained his first mistake.
The guy is so far out in left field, that I guess the only ones following him are secular and Christian radio talk shows, and I assume it is for rating's purposes.
This is so sad, and yet there remains a hand full of people who actually believe his words, as I witnessed when skipping through the radio talk shows. It amazes me that after his April failure that anyone is still ready to lend an ear!
Sorry if I stepped on your toe, I was just asking a question in order to solicit responses from those who happen to drop by the Board to see what we believe can quickly see that we are not among those who are easily deceived. -

I know where you stand----HA----don't think nothin' of it
But now that you've posed the question----I'm gonna respond along the lines of Salty above
EXCEPT
I'm gonna start about a month PRIOR to "The Camp's" rapture prediction date-----and run the max on my wife's charge cards----I'm gonna max them out to the hilt-----gonna buy that gun I've always wanted---that boat I've always wanted-----and all the other nice worldly things that go along with it-------then I'm gonna change all the mailing addresses on the charge cards to 1600 Pennsylvania Ave----in Washington, DC---and let our glorious PREZ worry about where he's gonna cough up the dough to pay the cards off!!!!!!!!!:laugh::laugh: -
HankD -
I read a statement from him somewhere about how October 21st may be spiritual and not an actual physical end to the world. That Christ's kingdom may come quietly. LOL He's got to cover his rear somehow!!

What does Camping and others like him have to say about Matthew 24:36?
"No one knows about that day or hour, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father.
