In all the whole of debate over the KJB, uh, there is no other debate in this forum, where has this debate gotten anybody?
Now I'm certain the flames will fly above all normal Christrian behaviour, but the "rules" game is sure to be played.
So, is your stand on the KJB strengthened?, weakened? Comments?
Where has this gotten you?

Before coming here, I'd never heard of Ruckmanism, Gailism, KJVOism, etc...so if I've learned anything at all, it's I really do have the straightest stick of all(but I already knew that)!
I don't have to defend it, explain it, apologize it & no further explanation is needed. I truly appreciate the stands that have been made & God will bless you for it. -
There are some people who have abandoned their KJVOnlyism after having been shown the truth about it. That has made it profitable for them.
In all, my stand on the KJV has been strengthened. -
Before I came here I knew the King James Bible is God's infallible, inerrant, inspired word of God.
Upon being here for a while I could not believe how many people did not believe that. I realized that the devil is just not in the world, but in the church as well. He is corrupting God's true word each and every day.
I believe this is what is going on today in some churches,
2 Corinthians 11:12 But what I do, that I will do, that I may cut off occasion from them which desire occasion; that wherein they glory, they may be found even as we.
13 For such are false apostles, deceitful workers, transforming themselves into the apostles of Christ.
14 And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light.
15 Therefore it is no great thing if his ministers also be transformed as the ministers of righteousness; whose end shall be according to their works. -

It has certainly opened my eyes. I did not know that there were people who would be so against versions that would make it easier for people to understand God's Word!
I grew up with the KJV. I think the language is beautiful. I have studied Shakespeare, but I find that the simple language of today is easier to understand.
Oh, yes, I do believe that the King James Version is the inspired Word of God! -
I was nKJV,NIV,NASB preferred before entering this forum, but now I'm solidly KJVO, thank God.
But I guess I'm a little off in that I think people can be saved from any version, even The Message or the Reader's Digest Condensed Bible.
I would also be much happier to have someone implicitly trusting their NIV than continually doubting their KJV. -
Before engaging myself in this subject on this message board, I already knew that the powers of darkness were involved in the debate. But now, after reading hundreds of posts and comparing the attitudes of those on both sides, I can see that the powers of darkness have even a greater influence that I had thought. :(

My love for the KJV is as strong as it always has been. My immediate rejection of all other versions is what has mellowed.

(last time i did the following I got
kicked off a Bulletin Board):
How to get saved according to the Reader's Digest Bible:
from page 670:
If you confess with your lips that Jesus is Lord
and believe in yur heart that God raised him
from the dead, you will be saved.
How to get saved according to THE MESSAGE:
Romans 10 (The Message):
... Say the welcoming
word to God -- "Jesus is my Master" -- embracing, body and soul,
God's work of doing in us what he did in raising Jesus from the dead.
That's it. You're not "doing" anything; you're simply calling
out to God, trusting him to do it for your. That's salvation.
How to get saved according to the real KJV1611:
Romanes X:9 (KJV1611):
That if thou shalt confesse with
thy mouth the Lord Iesus, and shalt
beleeue in thine heart, that God hath
raised him from the dead, thou shalt be
saued.
How to get saved by "passes for the KJV1611":
Romans 10:9 (KJV1769):
For if you confess with your mouth
that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart
that God raised him from the dead,
you will be saved.
How to get saved according to some KJVOs:
For if you confess with your mouth that
Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart
that God raised him from the dead,
and believe the KJV is the only Bible,
then you will be saved.
How to get saved by the New Living Translation:
Romans 10:9 (NLT)
For if you confess with your mouth that Jesus
is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised
him from the dead, you will be saved.

Wow, Ed, Does this mean by reading your 6 examples I got saved 7 times now? If I believed getting saved was just limited to that, then I got saved @ 5 years old in kindergarten in Americus, Ga. But i never once was under conviction at that age, but I sure believed Jesus died for my sins and God raised Him from the dead, my teacher told me so, and I came home and told my momma He did.
Maybe you should tell us why they kicked you out, or rethink why they did.
Oh, I'm sorry, you think I'm the spawn of satan. -

I expected as much :(

I grew up with KJV and love it. I like how the words say it. In Decemeber I got sick of not having a Bible of my own b/c mine got lost at a friend's house so I bought a new NIV to help with my Bible Sutdy at school ,and it has proved to be benficial. If I read the KJV to kids who don't regularyly hear all of the "Thees and Thous" they seem to get a little uninterested and confused but when I read the NIV they understand b/c they have grown up w/ it. It has also helped me in my daily Bible reading if I read Jeremiah or some prophecies or Hebrews or Revelation I understand much better! But when I read things that I have memorized in KJV in NIV I get sorta confused and it is wierd. It is not wrong to use a different version than KJV b/c KJV wasn't th orginal Bible. The orginal Bible was written in Greek and Hebrew of both which are dead languages. Here is how the KJV sounds with a verse
Titus 2:10
"Not purloining, but shewing all good fidelity; that they may adorn the doctrine of God our Saviour in all things."
Here is the NIV translation
Titus 2:10
"and not to steal from them, but to show that they can be fully trusted, so that in every way they may make the teaching about God our Savior attractive.". I don't know about you but I really didn't know that the word 'purloining meant! That has helped. I agree with most translations of the Bible b/c some have seemed to get alittle I don't know how to say it... -

Like most, I grew up with the KJV1769 revision used from the pulpit and, in addition, the ASV1901 as the study Bible (since it is a better English translation of the Greek tenses, etc).
I witnessed the rise and growth of pseudo-fundamentalism in the 60-70's, and then this weak theology finneyesque movement adopted the KJVO position.
I have and will stand strongly AGAINST such (duh, like that's news to anyone on the BB) which I firmly believe is a [snipped] and a [snipped], a scourge on Christianity and quite possibly the most divisive doctrine I've encountered.
I will not attack the AV1611 or its revisions, but I will not stand for someone to then attack the NASB or NKJV and tear down the precious Word of God.

I knew when I read your comments that you would be completely unable to identify anyone who actually believes what you have suggested. The fact that you accuse me of it only shows that you are not reading my posts. I have constantly affirmed those characteristics for the KJV. I simply have not stopped short of the biblical teaching by limiting it to the KJV. I have remained faithful to what Scripture teaches, rather than following the teachings of men. -
So, Man, I mean Larry, what are you teaching us?
You are one of the "men" right? -
The BB hasn't made me KJVO, or out of the movement, since I've been out of it for a while now. huh? anyway I have learned some good points pro and con. I used to be KJVO, having attended a strong KJVO college that is becoming more popular all the time, but in my day, hardly anyone knew about it. Now my latest Sword of the LORD has his pic on the front page! (The pastor who founded the college) hint: "Things That Are Different Are Not The Same"
One thing early on though that helped ultimately to drive me away from the KJVO position was that the Asc Pastor was a full blown Ruckmanite, and he arrogantly split the church over this issue when I was around 17-18, starting his church, right down the same street (about one mile away). Even when I was KJVO, I knew this was wicked, although I had wished my Pastor then was "stronger on the Bible". Years later, I see how wise he was, he was actually very strong, and the wolf who stole the sheep like Absalom stole the hearts, was brother who soweth discord. (Pro 6). -
