As some here on the BB seem to believe this is one of many valid reasons to not becoming a Cal..
does the theology of calvinism then really remove all free will from man, we are indeed "Sinners in the hand of an Angry God?"
Many here point to situations in scripture where God has sovereignly intervened to effectually bring about a specific purpose as a proof text to show God must always work "deterministically" in this manner.
What many don't seem to understand is that there is nothing within a Non-Calvinistic framework that prevents us from recognizing that there are special cases (e.g., divine inspiration of scripture; various answers to prayer or road to damascus experiences) in which God overwhelmingly...
"There is no concrete and inescapable reference, in any of the New Testament books, to the destruction of Jerusalem, and is this in itself not a pretty surprising fact? Would we not expect one of these writers, particularly those of a triumphalist turn of mind, to make it clear that the very core and centre of Jewish worship had been obliterated?" - A.N. Wilson, on the reason for a pre-AD 70 dating of Revelation
This points to a pre AD 70 date, not only for Revelation, but for all the other...
31And he shall send his angels with a great sound of a trumpet, and they shall gather together his elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other.
Does God have a elect people ? There is one scripture that says God's own elect. Lk 18:7
7And shall not God avenge his own elect, which cry day and night unto him, though he bear long with them?
Is the fact that God has an election a theory of a man name calvin, or is it a scriptural truth ? I believe those who...
I ask this question because there are many times in our walk through this life where we are torn apart by someone, or many someone's, and while we may forgive, according to Scripture, is it always wise to forget from where the harm came from.
An example is in a marriage. A woman finally gets tired of being beaten senseless, and nearly to death, by an abusive spouse. They also grow tired of being emotionally and mentally abused to the point where they have no self esteem left within them....
In another thread, the discussion strayed from giving advice about a particular program to talking about unaccredited degrees. Moreover, another person posted a thread questioning the point of a D.Min. Therefore, following the same regard, I would like to know what is the point of unaccredited degrees at this time? At one point, they were great for pastors who could not travel, or leave ministry. However, there are far too many options available from regionally, or nationally accredited...
Know both cals/Arms affirm that
Humans are sinners
Christ died for the sins of his saved peoples
Gospel sent forth to lost sinners
Don't Cals see God as Ultimate source of Salvation, As he direct elects his own, while Arms see us as final authority, as we can refuse to accept what God offers unto us in Cross of Jesus?
Why is such a "big deal" if God decided to use either His direct ordaining Will to base Election on, or by His Foreknowledge of what we would choose to do?
Wouldn't both "acts" result in one becoming a Christian?
What is biig difference between these 2 views than?
