Is God Punishing America....
...I can't help but wonder if the leadership we now have in place in this nation is part of God's reminder that what we, as people, live for, we get?
Many times in the OT, God sent evil Kings to lead the nation of Israel, and it sure seems that Obama is a spiritual reminder to the church that if we don't move from our seats to our knees, we can expect more of what we have today?
Do you think that God could be sending a strong warning to the people across this nation that greatness... -
Who's to say that one is not a Baptist?
We, the BaptistBoard, were recently visited by someone famous (a best selling author). Apparently he is not a Baptist though he put forward what seemed to be Baptist-like credentials (yet, i don't think he claimed to be a Baptist). A moderator instructed that as a non-Baptist he should not post in the Baptist only part of the forum and the thread was closed. Regardless of whether he is or not, it is not the reason for this thread. My question is what makes someone not a Baptist? What if... -
Is John McCarthur a Calvinist?
Hard to say according to these comments about scripture in I Tim. 2:
Obviously, in some inscrutable sense, God's desire for the world's salvation is different from His eternal saving purpose. We can understand this to some degree from a human perspective; after all, our purposes frequently differ from our desires. We may desire, for example, to spend a day at leisure, yet a higher purpose compels us to go to work instead. Similarly, God's saving purposes transcend His desires. (There is a... -
Covenant Theology
Covenant Theology is a view that interprets the Bible through the eyes of speculative rationalism. In eternity, before creation, the Godhead committed to a purpose and plan they call the “Covenant of Redemption.” Evidence from scripture can be found in that the Lamb of God was “foreknown” before the foundation of the world, 1 Peter 1:19-20.
I must digress here to explain that “foreknowledge” refers to knowledge obtained or formulated in the past, and is be utilized or implemented in the... -
Colossians 2:13-14 and Reformed/Calvinist theology
I was listening to Matt Slick Live today and he mentioned that non-Reformed Christians have a problem with Colossians 2:14. To put the verse in context I included the previous verse:
"And you, being dead in your sins and the uncircumcision of your flesh, hath he quickened together with him, having forgiven you all trespasses; Blotting out the handwriting of ordinances that was against us, which was contrary to us, and took it out of the way, nailing it to his cross" (Colossians 2:13-14... -
What happened to the resurrected FLESHLY Body of Christ?
You that deny the Physical body of Jesus Christ was resurrected, handled and asserted to be "flesh" and not "spirit" and which the apostles saw with their own yes ascend into heaven and which Paul says "the man" Jesus Christ is still in heaven - tell us what happened to that physical resurrected body??
Tell us how death and sin are not victorious if that body perished someway? -
Why do we NEED a physical body in the next life?
What CAN'T the angels do with their spiritual bodies on the earth that we will be doing in the next life? -
Is Obama Anti-Christian?
After reading the attached article, you decide if he is the most hostile POTUS ever!

Asking for book titles.
Partial Preterists, give me your best book title for a futurist to understand the PP view
Full Preterists, same request.
Hyper Preterists, if that is different from full, same thing.
I have many books in my library, some of which I don't agree with at all, but I like to educate myself. I am a dyed in the wool futurist, so I will not change imo, but at least I can understand where y'all are coming from and we can have a more civil dialogue and I can at least respect your view and... -
Do Cals Deny "by grace through faith"
Simple question based on an accusation of calvinists in another thread...
Do those who hold to a Calvinistic view of Election, by very virtue of holding that belief...DENY that we are saved "by grace through faith"...since we believe that the faith needed for salvation is itself a gift from God?
I'm especially interested to hear from the non-cals about what they think about this question.
Please keep in mind that this would include saying Martin Luther (yeah, that "Justification by...
