Isaiah on the "Free Will" of the Unregenerate Man
Isaiah 44:13-20
13. The carpenter stretcheth out his rule; he marketh it out with a line; he fitteth it with planes, and he marketh it out with the compass, and maketh it after the figure of a man, according to the beauty of a man; that it may remain in the house.
14. He heweth him down cedars, and taketh the cypress and the oak, which he strengtheneth for himself among the trees of the forest: he planteth an ash, and the rain doth nourish it.

I’ve had second thoughts about the gospel
I’ve been having second thoughts about what Jesus’ gospel really is all about!
Jesus’ gospel means Jesus’ good news.
Jesus’ GOOD NEWS includes the fact that God is a personal God who really cares about people!
So, Jesus preached the word, performed miraculous healings, and cast demons out of people.
Jesus came to preach the gospel, to heal the sick, and to help people spiritually
“The Spirit of the LORD is upon Me, because He has anointed Me to preach the gospel to the poor;

Prepared prayers
What are your thoughts about prepared prayers whether memorized or written out? Do you feel it is acceptable, proper or unacceptable, improper to write out prayers before hand or have them memorized if we know we are going to be called on to pray or perhaps just have one in our pocket in case we are called on so we can read it?
Is there any evidence that anyone in scripture gave prepared prayers? As you know the Catholics follow this a lot in their practices such as the rosary.

The Baptist Identity, How Accurate?
Subtitle: "Four Fragile Freedoms"
I just finished reading it. Let me sum up the "Four Fragile Freedoms":
1. Bible Freedom is the historic Baptist affirmation that the Bible, under the Lordship of Christ, must be central in the life of the individual and church and that Christians, using the best and most scholarly tools of inquiry, are both free and obligated to study and obey the Scripture.
2. Soul Freedom is the historic Baptist affirmation of the inalienable right and... -
Foresight Faith View versus the Corporate View of Election in Baptist life?
It bas become evident that most people address all the non-Calvinists here as if we all hold to what is commonly referred to as the "Foresight Faith View of Election." (i.e. God looks down the corridors of time to see what individuals will believe in Christ and based on that knowledge, elects only those individuals to be saved.)
However, the most prominent view of election held to by non-Calvinistic Baptists has been what is known as the "Corporate View of Election." (i.e. God has... -
Oriental orthodoxy and the Eucharist
Q1: Why don’t we allow Protestants to take communion in our Churches?
A1: The Didache or “the teaching of the 12 apostles” is a manuscript, which was used by 2nd century bishops and priests for the instruction of the catechumens. Many early Church Fathers have referenced it making this document relatively easy to date. It states: “Let no one eat or drink of your Eucharist but those baptized in the name of the Lord; to this, too the saying of the Lord is applicable, ‘Do not give what is holy... -
Followers or fans
Can a person be saved and not be a follower of the Lord Jesus Christ? Or is being a fan enough to be saved? If a person does not have to be a follower of Christ to be saved then who are they following?
