Tell us where we are wrong, and use scripture, please. If you are going to make a blanket statement like that, and not back it up, you are hardly worth engaging on it.

He can't. He can only point you to arguments made by others.

...13% point the finger at the Israelis...

Closely divided?

You have simply got to be kidding.

That interpretation is a stretch even for our resident anti-Israelis.

Why on earth would you make such a claim? This completely flies in the face of everything I've ever been taught or have read for myself in God's word. I'm willing to make a new thread for this, because if there are Christians who think this way, I need to know why and how one could possibly come to this conclusion?

I will start a new thread in the "other denominations" forum in case you are not baptist.

This isn't a Baptist only forum, but I think where you started the thread is probably a better place for this topic, since this is the "News/Current Events" forum. :wavey:

You can call me what ever you like. But I have my viewpoints, and your statement does not make my statement incorrect... We have a nation that is systematically ridding this country of God, at least it is trying to...

We have Christians that think, since the Bible says love your enemy, that the homosexual lifestyle is just fine.

Or that a woman's right to happiness, is reason enough to kill an unwanted child..

Will you apologize in 4 years when God is still sitting high on the throne, is still the God you and I pray to and we can still feel his presence moving within us?

If God is still the God of the Jews after they rejected and killed his Son, I am sure he has room in His heart for mercy on America.

You haven't look at the thread in the other forum lately, have you? I tossed in my two cents worth.

But why do you have a problem with me pointing to other folks who have already made some of the same points I would have made? I think you sometimes allow your dislike for my positions on various issues to override your Christian love for me as your brother in Christ.

Maybe you should go back and look thru your own posts if that is want you truly think. Between you and another BB member who wants my throat slit, and yet another BB member who travels over to my blog and literally posts vile curse words because of my views on "science" there are plenty of personal attacks.

As far as what I said well facts are facts.

Really ? So "forevermore" really means "until Calvary" ?

Actually until 70 A.D. when God ceased dealing with ancient Israel as a separate nation. Everything that matters for eternity is complete in Christ Jesus. And eternity is all that ultimately matters.

You know I have never posted anything even approaching such reprehensible things.

I figured you knew I was kidding about getting your throat cut and I did sincerely apologize when I realized you took the joke the wrong way. Not much more I can do.

If I didn't love you man I wouldn't spend my evenings finding subjects we can disagree on. Nor would I bother to challenge your positions when I know you have a decent point. It takes a Brother, a "comrade in arms" to take time to make sure you can defend your positions. Apologetics or defending the Gospel is something I will admit you do well. Even if we don't agree verse to verse, you do defend your beliefs....

Someday you'll forgive me and my apology will be waiting...

The fact that any American is blaming Israel is a symptom of why this nation is going to Hell in a handbasket...

We have the most liberal of all presidents getting ready to take over
We have a corrupt crook for a governor in IL..
We have people that think that gov. should still be able to appoint a Sen.
We have gays marching against Christians and ripping crosses out of our hands..
We have "Christians" that think murdering babies should be the mothers choice.
We have people complaining because a Christian will be praying to Jesus at the inauguration of Obama.
Now we have Americans turning against God's own people.

It seems every nation on the planet hates Israel.
That has to speak volumes.

America will fall.. it is inevitable.
God will destroy us.

And....it was reported (video tape) of muslim and other pro-Palestinian protestors down in Florida yelling at the Jews across the street to "go back to the ovens." We allow hate speech from muslims and their cronies towards Jews, but if it were whites yelling things at blacks, it would be considered hate speech. I think it is absolutely detestable what is happening to America and that Americans are sooooo blind and dumb that our country is deteriorating all around us under the guise of political correctness for muslims and their evil causes. I can see how there will be a "great delusion" in the end times...it is already happening now.

Israel has every right to defend itself against invasion by another nation. This is the only area of complaint one can make. Thay have been attacked and they were reacting. We hardly know what it is like to have our shopping malls bombed, and villages bombed constantly.

I do not support the idea that Israel is a sacred nation. That is only one eschatalogical viewpoint. I do defend their right to live in peace.

This Muslim nation even fired rockets from school building with Blue flags flying so that the Western world would see how "bad" the Jews were. There are no innocents in war and one can't hide behind a UN or any other flag.

Cheers,

Jim

Very few people hold to such a position in the United States. Stating that Israel needs to be careful to avoid harming innocent civilians does not equate to saying that Israel should not defend itself.

Then take this analogy:
If I were invading America, the first thing I'd insist on were to have my armies bring their wives and children..... Then be sure and set up bases of operation in churches, and schools....Then pump up the propaganda machine (already in place) to decry harming the innocents....

I wonder why some people won't criticize those who would launch missiles from schools & hospitals.......

I'm a covenantist, not a dispensationalist, so I don't share the eschatological views of the majority here, I suspect, re the modern secular State of Israel being the legitimate inheritor of the Abrahamic covenant.

That said, I fully support the right of Israel to defend herself against rocket attacks. That said, I consider the Israeli response to be disproportionate, with particular regard to civilian casualties (although they also seem to be pretty good at taking out Hamas terrorists); the collateral's probably a tad high in this particular instance. In particular, if the allegation - and it is just an allegation at present - that Israeli soldiers advised civilians to shelter in a particular building only to subsequently shell it, if true, amounts to a war crime. The British military would have rightly had similar international opprobrium heaped on it if it had carpet-bombed and strafed the Londonderry Bogside district every time the IRA fired a mortar its way or detonated a bomb in a shopping mall.

The collateral deaths are a result of Hamas using civilians as shields. Their deaths are on the hands of Hamas alone.

With the memory of a year of night and day bombing in East London (my home) by the Germans during WWII, and then Berlin crying when we bombed the daylights out of that city.

Two wrongs don't make a right, but I can tell you, we celebrated in East London.

Cheers,

Jim

Just as the Irish Republican terrorists used the inhabitants of Derry's Creggan and Bogside housing developments as human shields in the 70s - should we Brits therefore have launched airstrikes against those civilian areas, and what would have been the US reaction had we done so?
