That, my friend, was NOT a "personal" attack. He didn't call YOU an enemy of God - he was making a theological statement of his opinion on CCM. YOU were not in the statement (I read it).
Let's move on and discuss the subject before I get personal . .
Entertainment sinful?

Dr. Bob...that was a personal attack. I like CCM...people who like CCM music are enemies of God, ergo I am an "enemy of God." I don't appreciate that. If this is not a personal attack then I could say conservatism is the political ideology of the devil himself. If anyone takes offense at this then my point is proven.
Now...yes let's get on with discussing the subject. -
Dr. Bob,
I agree.
Joseph Botwinick -
Hey Joe and KJ;
Please provide evidence I have said entertainment is ALWAYS such a bad thing.
I support DHK's position. Christ said we are to deny ourselves and take up our cross and follow him. How is "entertainment" denying oneself?
Someone posted differences in "entertainment". I concur with the fact that there ARE differences. For example: In Master's Club (similar to AWANA'S but better) we often play games with the children to teach them a Biblical truth. This can be "entertaining" but the GOAL is to teach Biblical truth.
I think what DHK and I are saying is that "entertainment" for its own sake alone is wrong. But IF it is to further the Kingdom of God then it can be BOTH refreshing and spiritually healthy.
Someone else mentioned the times Christ attended weddings etc...
Obviously these were CELEBRATIONS and NOT entertainment for the sake of entertainment. So their point is untenable.

I would not be offended by you saying that. There are times when I might even agree with you on that. But, for the most part, I do disagree with you. But, you have the right to your theological and political opinion, as do I. I also have the right to challenge your opinions, as do you.
Joseph Botwinick -
Jim, you said: "Why am I on the BB? At this time ( and for the last four YEARS) I am in a tiny town with no Bible Believing church to attend. Therefore; I am on the BB to fellowship, preach, and sharpen my Sword skills. Ok?"
That is conclusive evidence to assume you haven't been to church in four years. If it weren't, then why did Joseph even ASK if the BB was your CHURCH?
 -
Joseph Botwinick -
Joseph, if you truly would not be offended by that then maybe I was wrong.
Jim...though I'm not going to argue with you...I'm just going to refrain from commenting on your post. -
Joseph Botwinick -
Then maybe I did too Joseph. The point is...he only addressed me and tried to make me look stupid.

We have traveled back home for our 10 day preaching conferences. I have even been all the way down to Texas for one. We are NOTcompletely apostate! LOL
And just how do you equate this BB with church? That one baffles me.

Joseph:
From my view, participating in a political debate furthers the Kingdom of God inasmuch as the truths of God's word are communicated concerning any given "political" issue. The reason being is that in every case, what is called "political" cannot be seperated from what God has revealed in scripture concerning the governance of any given nation. By that I mean to say that God has outlined in Scripture the parameters by which we as Christians ought to live our lives. As such, we as Christians ought to be involved in our individual societies in such a way that the Gospel is freely preached, souls are saved, and holiness is proclaimed.
Our GOAL in everything we do ought to be "preaching Christ and Him crucified." For to me to live IS Christ.
Agreed?

If that is how you felt, then I apologize for my part.
Not for my position nor for my comments, but for HOW you perceived them.

What are you talking about Jim?

Nothing about anything being hastily spoken. Count me   -

DHK,
If there is anything in your life that you do which can not be done to glorify God, then by all means, give it up.
If there is anything in your life that you are putting before God, then by all means, give it up.
Do not, though, sir, presume that God did not intend for people to use ALL their talents, and ALL the events of their life to give glory to God. -

Jim -
Jim, no...not hastily spoken. Conclusion I drew after reading what you said. It appears you are just looking for a fight. Go look elsewhere for a fight with someone else...
