The hair is the glory of the woman, just as the woman is the glory of the man… The hair is used as a symbol…. A man praying without his head covered (not under subjection to Christ, but unto his wife), dishonors his head…. A woman praying with her head uncovered (without being under subjection to her husband), dishonors her head….. The hair is used as a symbol… Have you witnessed a husband that is led around by the wife, isn’t this a shame unto him… Have you witnessed a man that isn’t under subjection to Christ, but is mean unto his wife, doesn’t nature teach this is a shame….
Thus, comes the arguments, how long is long…. How shorn is shorn, etc…. The Bible tells you the steps of authority and then gives you symbols to understand it… Just as Christ gave us parables to understand something important…. Brethren, don’t be ignorant on this subject…..
Headcovering..........veil or hair?

Hi Grace, nice to have you join in on the conversation. This is always a heated topic and really shouldn't be.
There are those who believe in covering and those that don't. However there are those that aren't sure and when these types of topics come up, they get to here from the ones that do cover their reasons and how the Lord led them to that step in their walk.
There are people who like to fight this issue and try to provoke those who do cover to anger, sometimes successfully and that is when the moderators close the threads.
If you have any more insight on this particular passage of scripture, please share with those who might have a genuine interest regarding the matter.
I am sure your input will be well received and without contention! -
Diane,
I have agreed to disagree with you on this topic. I hope you have a very blessed day today. -
Galatians 3v15
"But if ye bite and devour one another, take heed that ye be not consumed one of another" -

It's "bait" because it indicates your anabaptist/mennonite inclinations in spite of your "church" affiliation as baptist.
There are many that would be happy to bar anabaptist/mennonites from posting on Baptist only sections.
And doctrine belies the name of the church. You can CALL a church "baptist" and it isn't, just as you can CALL a church by another title and in reality is IS a "baptist" church.
Think it was just some friendly advice to help difuse the rancor and animosity that always follows promotion of anabaptist/mennonite teaching.
Odd, to a group that promotes "pacifism" to always be fussing and fighting? -

I just wanted to clarify that and vindicate my remark.
Diane </font>[/QUOTE]You do realize that this thread has become so popular, that it takes up most of my time that I have in the day to post on BB. -
Maybe a thread like this one where mostly pro-headcovering people respond could be placed in the fundamental forum. This is a theological issue is it not?Click to expand...Click to expand...

has nothing to do with your comment?
Did you know you can do your quote function
and PRUNE stuff from it that you don't
need to address. Try it, you might like it.
I hear 9 out of ten only read three
lines anyway. So most people read your quote
not your comment.

If style & type of clothing is something you're wrestling over in your mind, or if you're feeling convicted about dress, and what in this world should a Christian woman be wearing, then pray, discuss these things with your husband. Many will have ideas and convictions about what *you* should wear, but what matters most is what the LORD is directing and what your husband prefers.Click to expand...
It's a really nice page tho, isn't it!

The reason for posting that link (again) was to give "credit" for where I obtained the recipe. I've seen a lot of folks "get in trouble" for not "giving credit".
There are tons of diet/regular recipes on that site among other things. -

This is not a debate to you, I am just wondering if we can discuss this, (the ones who want to) without having to debate? Thank you for your time and consideration. -
Dear SisHcl~When I was here before, I had several sweet ladies email me to say they were very much interested in these type of topics (modesty, etc), but were afraid to post for fear of being chewed-up alive.
I've had a few write since I've been back with the same thought...all I can tell them is this is typical of what you will find when you try to walk close to Jesus. This is only a sampling of what the real world is like.
May the Lord richly bless you, sweet sister, as you seek His Will for you & yours. You have already been a blessing in my life. -

May I suggest we just agree to disagree?
This is what I have been saying all along.
If you're convicted to wear simple style clothing and head coverings then it is not our place to tell you to do otherwise. Who are we to quench the Spirit. However, it's not your place to attempt to 'guilt' us into something that has not been placed on our hearts by that same Holy Spirit. It is ok for to make personal attacks on us, but we can't defend ourselves? Kind of hypocritical. But you are correct, when you attack us we should follow Romans 12 teaching on not repaying evil with evil.
We go round and round. Certain women NEVER post here until the word headcovering or a subject on pants or dresses appears. When the topics die down, they disappear until the next time.I have seen Headcoverlady post on other threads dealing with other issues. And it is not a sin to have personal interest.
There is so much more to serving our Lord than whether or not we have long hair or head coverings. This is such a waste of time and a horrible example to new Christians.

The Lord brought Matthew 5 to my attention again yesterday in church.
I truly wish someone had taught me the doctrine of headcovering as a new Christian as well as the above doctrine (still working on that one).
The first time I ever heard it preached from the pulpit I was already wearing one.Click to expand...Click to expand...Click to expand...Click to expand...Click to expand...
