Why should I bother? You have decided to be hostile towards me and I'm beginning to see why your son just might not wish to have anything to do with God.

How funny, I talked to my son and brought up this discussion on here and he thought how sad and ignorant Ann is after my reading to him most of the discussion about his soul.

He assured me that he is saved and knows God and trust him for his life. Well, at least both my boys are saved...so I must have done something right...hmmm, I wonder what?

BTW, he also said it is because of judgmental Christian like that is why CHURCH isn't appealing to him, but he still loves God...it is CHURCH and many of the mean spirited people in it is just one of the reasons, he isn't inlvoved. he traveled many countries that don;t have CHRISTIAN churches in them in the last 7 years...Italy, Korea, Arab country Qatar...etc.

He's only 26 (27 soon0 God isn't done with him yet...so stop judging...I know he is just fine just the way he is now.

Here lately threads seem to have taken on an immaturity level I have never seen before. Grade school at best.

How should Christians treat the saved murderer or rapist?

The laws against sodomy should be written back into the books and the force of the state should be employed in treatment of the behavior.

You're right, can't talk sense into someone who has none...sorry, let's get back on track...

RD's needs to take head to the message (maybe God sent me cause I didn't know) so he can actually have a relationship with his daughter instead of judging her into hell, but by love and grace minister in a way that can restore his walk with her and hopefully her walk with God...obviously his way hasn't worked yet, nor has it worked for the church in general...the MORE HATE that is spewed towards any human being that needs Christ no mater what sin they have the more they will TURN AWAY...

I guess according to some of you, PRISON MINISTRIES are a waste of time...too many abominations in there...they should all go to hell!...that is the message you preach!

World English Dictionary defines "homosexual" as follows: 1. n a person who is sexually attracted to members of the same sex

Given the definition of the word 'homosexual', there can be no such thing as a "saved homosexual" The two terms, "saved" and "homosexual" are in opposition to one another.

Jesus said that if a man looks on a woman to lust after her he has already committed adultery in his heart.

It works the same way with the abominable homosexual, he is drawn sexually to another man, so in his heart he has already committed the very sin of homosexuality.

God says in Revelation that those who work abominations will have their part in the lake of fire.

To say one can be saved and a homosexual at the same time it to call God a liar.

Christian Legalism - The Dark Side of Christianity

    By Don Koenig

There is one side of Christianity that waters down the gospel and makes following Jesus some self improvement program for the successful. It is attractive to Western pseudo Christians looking for some purpose to a materialistic way of life. Meanwhile, thousands of real Christians are dying for their faith in Jesus Christ all over the world while these success motivated “Christians” listen to humanistic teachings and belly up to their church cappuccino bar.

I have already said plenty about this postmodern side of Christianity with its seeker friendly church programs and emergent church doctrines. I also wrote an article about the rising influence of psychology and the dominionists in Christianity who see a triumphant church ruling in the earthly domain of Satan. Yet, there is even a darker side of Christianity that few are talking about. Some in this darker side are the same ones who criticize the seeker friendly postmodern salvation lite message - so be very careful about the doctrine you receive. Nevertheless, the fact that there is a darker side in Christianity is not an excuse for anyone to accept the errors of those who water down and dumb down Christian doctrine and paganize Christianity with “New Age” concepts that lead most of Christianity down the path to Laodicea (lukewarm Christianity).

This darker side of Christianity makes Christianity something to be achieved by following doctrines from men who never understood the plan of salvation in the first place. These men believe salvation comes by obedience to keeping commandments and by following certain rules or rituals of practice. For want of a better term, I will call this dark side of Christianity "legalism".

When I say these are legalistic, I am not talking about those who believe every word of scripture and apply them in such a way that can be supported in the light of all of scripture. The Christian legalists I am talking about are those who take certain passages of scripture to imply the Bible says something that really cannot be supported in its full light. I am talking about those who try to conform to the letter without having the Holy Spirit so that they are unable to apply the scriptures with any wisdom or understanding. They are like some modern lawyers of our day who often twist the truth on purpose to achieve their desired outcome of deception.

These legalists are a cancer in Christianity

These wolves in sheep's clothing are the rule in a few denominations and a cancer in others. They have doctrines that only confuse people or lead people to hell. The Church and Judaism have always had them. Jesus called these Scribe and Pharisee types, vipers and sons of their father the Devil. If we go back to early Christianity, Paul speaks expressly against those who want to keep everyone under the law. The law was given to show that we are imperfect and condemned to be separated from God unless God Himself did something to bridge that gap. That is why both Jews and Gentiles must come to God by the "Law of Faith". Our example in scripture is Abraham.

The Law of Faith is belief that only God is righteous and merciful and that only He can provide the way of salvation for mankind. This plan of salvation from God was actually carried out when God the Son (Jesus) paid the requirements of the law for all on the cross. These who by faith believe God and accept the sacrifice He provided for mankind's sins will be saved. You see, God is interested in saving people who truly trust in Him. God is not interested in having people in His presence who think they got there by their own righteousness through following the letter of the law or by rituals of obedience.

Gal 3:24 Wherefore the law was our schoolmaster to bring us unto Christ, that we might be justified by faith.

Gal 3:25 But after that faith is come, we are no longer under a schoolmaster.

Rom 3:27 Where is boasting then? It is excluded. By what law? of works? Nay: but by the law of faith.

Gal 5:4 Christ is become of no effect unto you, whosoever of you are justified by the law; ye are fallen from grace.

Throughout Church and Jewish history, there were many legalists that interpreted scriptures through black light. They even killed many who did not accept their dark interpretation. In the modern church, there are still many legalists who condemn people to hell who will not accept their demonically inspired doctrines. In one way or another they always put people back under the requirements of the law and in the final analysis they make salvation something that comes through one's own effort. (Of course they deny that they do that, but their legalistic doctrine says otherwise.) These dark clouds without water deny that you can be saved by faith in the atoning sacrifice of Jesus alone. They always add something more to salvation than trusting in Jesus Christ. I will give some examples:

All of these legalistic groups have at least some knowledge of
the scriptures and some have a great deal of knowledge of what the Bible says. So what is the problem here? The problem is they can read scripture but they cannot comprehend it. They cannot correlate what they read with other passages of Scripture in their black light. That is true of the world in general because light from the Holy Spirit is required to properly discern scripture passages. The reason they do not have light is they want to be acceptable to God by obedience and their works instead of by the Law of Faith. If they came to Jesus this way they have never been saved.

Those who find themselves in these groups would be very wise to try to find out for themselves why Christians say they teach a doctrine of works and they are legalistic. Arguing a position from the doctrine that you were spoon-fed will not bring you enlightenment. It will only bring further bondage. If your doctrine can stand in the light it will stand, but if the doctrine of your sect is darkness, that will be discovered in the true light. If you are open to truth, you will then be able to see the way out. However, if you wish to be wise in your own eyes and teach people some path to Hell, you will bring upon yourself a harsher judgment.

Christians who find themselves in a legalistic church or under legalistic teachers really need to leave. There is almost no chance that you can change them but there can be a few exceptions in those churches where the doctrine is not well established. I thought a former church I belonged to was heading in that direction when they hired a legalistic new pastor so I left pronto. I did go back because they fired the pastor over doctrine soon after I left. The church surprised me. I knew most members where not legalistic but I had little regard for their biblical discernment since many members had never read the Bible. I left because I figured I had no influence on their choice of pastors since I was a member of this church for less than a year. Unless you are in leadership in a legalistic church and have great influence to change things, find a new church that understands about the Law of Faith and gives Christians the freedom in Christ that Jesus gives.

Leave the legalistic Christian pastors alone to teach legalistic Christians who love their exclusive club of bondage.

The problem is not so much legalism as it is liberalism.

God's Word reveals that one cannot be saved and be a homosexual at the same time. To hold onto that truth and teach it is not legalism at all... it is truth.

Don Koenig (who you just quoted) says of homosexuals:

"The type of spirit within man will manifest itself in outward expressions. Sex perversion is certainly one of those expressions."

The type of spirit that is in man will eventually cause that man to physically sin after the manner of that spirit. The man that claims to be homosexual is so because of a demonic spirit that is guiding him in that direction. It certainly is not from God!

Further proof that one cannot be a homosexual and a saved person both at the same time.

The article was right when it comes to the topic of legalism and legalism...this author isn't a source I would go to for truth about homosexuals, he is juts as ignarant as many on here are about the subject....no surprise there...most Christians don't have a clue that gays/lesbians/bisexuals are no different than anyone else...and DON KOENG like others only talk about the men (the drive is often sex) than he does Lesbians (drive is usually emotional) many have been sexually abused and abused by men in general or it is their innate tendency like all our sins are...so they turn to other women....So he didn't deal at all with the whole issue of the FALL, and other factors...

It doesn't matter, because the BIBLE is our source and Jesus is the answer. How would Jesus treat the homosexual saved or not?...just because someone gets saved doesn't mean all of a sudden they are going to be attracted to the opposite sex...far from it....No more than an addict, sex offender, or anyone else who is under such bondage would....for we KNOW NOT THEIR STORY!

It is still our job to bring them to Christ the same way we would anyone else and if they still struggle do the same as we would do for anyone else...(or maybe not many on here would do) and that is help them draw closer to God and let God do the work....not out of condemnation but out of love and restoration.

I will look up a source that so far has always agreed with me in the last few years I found the site...they have answered over 300,000 questions accurately!

    SEE RIGHT AGAIN!

Question: "Is it possible to be a gay Christian?"

Answer: “Do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived; neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor homosexuals, nor thieves, nor the covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor swindlers, will inherit the kingdom of God” (1 Corinthians 6:9-10). There is a tendency to declare homosexuality as the worst of all sins. While it is undeniable, biblically speaking, that homosexuality is immoral and unnatural (Romans 1:26-27), in no sense does the Bible describe homosexuality as an unforgivable sin. Nor does the Bible teach that homosexuality is a sin Christians will never struggle against.

Perhaps that is the key phrase in the question of whether it is possible to be a gay Christian: “struggle against.” It is possible for a Christian to struggle with homosexual temptations. Many homosexuals who become Christians have ongoing struggles with homosexual feelings and desires. Some strongly heterosexual men and women have experienced a “spark” of homosexual interest at some point in their lives. Whether or not these desires and temptations exist does not determine whether a person is a Christian. The Bible is clear that no Christian is sinless (1 John 1:8,10). While the specific sin / temptation varies from one Christian to another, all Christians have struggles with sin, and all Christians sometimes fail in those struggles (1 Corinthians 10:13).

What differentiates a Christian’s life from a non-Christian’s life is the struggle against sin. The Christian life is a progressive journey of overcoming the “acts of the flesh” (Galatians 5:19-21) and allowing God’s Spirit to produce the “fruit of the Spirit” (Galatians 5:22-23). Yes, Christians sin, sometimes horribly. Sadly, sometimes Christians are indistinguishable from non-Christians. However, a true Christian will always repent, will always eventually return to God, and will always resume the struggle against sin. But the Bible gives no support for the idea that a person who perpetually and unrepentantly engages in sin can indeed be a Christian. Notice 1 Corinthians 6:11, "And that is what some of you were. But you were washed, you were sanctified, you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and by the Spirit of our God."

First Corinthians 6:9-10 lists sins that, if indulged in continuously, identify a person as not being redeemed—not being a Christian. Often, homosexuality is singled out from this list. If a person struggles with homosexual temptations, that person is presumed to be unsaved. If a person actually engages in homosexual acts, that person is definitely thought to be unsaved. However, the same assumptions are not made, at least not with the same emphasis, regarding other sins in the list: fornication (pre-marital sex), idolatry, adultery, thievery, covetousness, alcoholism, slander, and deceit. It is inconsistent, for example, to declare those guilty of pre-marital sex as “disobedient Christians,” while declaring homosexuals definitively non-Christians.

Is it possible to be a gay Christian? If the phrase “gay Christian” refers to a person who struggles against homosexual desires and temptations – yes, a “gay Christian” is possible. However, the description “gay Christian” is not accurate for such a person, since he/she does not desire to be gay, and is struggling against the temptations. Such a person is not a “gay Christian,” but rather is simply a struggling Christian, just as there are Christians who struggle with fornication, lying, and stealing. If the phrase “gay Christian” refers to a person who actively, perpetually, and unrepentantly lives a homosexual lifestyle – no, it is not possible for such a person to truly be a Christian.

    Matt22:37-30,

OldTimer asked earlier why you are posting other people's work and not giving them the credit. Your last post was about struggling Christians, and it was taken from another site.

You are aware that what you are doing is plagiarism when you don't give the proper credit where credit is due, don't you?

Plagiarism is theft. Post the credits with the work or don't post the work at all.

Are they accurate because they agree with you?

Your choice of wording, especially when you write things like "just as ignorant as many on here--no surprise", is revealing about how you view yourself.

Sexual sin takes many forms. It is one of Satan's most fiery darts. God calls such things abominations, even though we change the definition to: alternate lifestyle. Sin is sin is sin, regardless of how we may sugar coat our behaviour.

We all have personal demons. Jesus can deal with them. We cannot.

    Even so, come Lord Jesus.
