I think there are other, more important and pressing issues to consider though!

I think that we both know that one, as it involves vows and covenant, and also in seeking out in books and others what you want, but not need to hear!

The divorce issue is one where I will side with Keener. Also I do not only read books that affirm my views as JonC thinks. I read opposing views as well! Why do you think I give credit to the metaphorical view of Hell these days?

I addressed those instances. Such abuse may constitute separation but it does not dissolve the union. You married a woman. She is your wife. Period. And that's another topic.

Well even if Keener is wrong and I did sin in this situation nothing I can do about it as she refuses to reconcile and I did try more than once.

I understand. It's not an easy answer. Like when I teach my class on "Gray Issues in the Church." What do you do with the verse that says, What so ever things are "good, just, loving, peaceful... think on these things?"

You will side with the guy who got his education at the thoroughly Arminian Assemblies of God Seminary and teaches at Arminian (Weslyan) Asbury Seminary?

Because he gives you cover to hide behind regarding your vow breaking, unfathfulness, drunkeness, and attempted fornication?

It is not about fixing your sin. It is about turning from your sin. The you that would put your desire to drink aboce your wife and your previous church and the you that would abandon your wife for not meeting your expectations really needs to go.

We all have to look at our walk and repent when we find ourselves walking in darkness. Repentance is a life long process where the believer wears out that path of killing sin and running to God. The standard is Gods revelation, not our desires.

I take it you would not call divorce either for sexual sin (i.e., adultery, homosexual practice, or bestiality) or irremediable desertion unbiblical (in agreement with the Westminster Confession)?

There was no sexual sin in this case. Also HE was the one that filed for divorce. He sinned by divorcing his wife without cause and is looking to get commit adultery by marrying someone else.

I kind of agree with the news rules but maybe it went too far? Something like Schindler's List that is rated R is a movie that I think is an excellent movie that is for a much older audience. College age is perfect and even high school. So I think for something like that, it went too far with banning R rated movies. But there are PG movies that have stuff in it that I just don't think is good for anyone to watch so really, it is based on the subject matter, the purpose of what is in the movie and the audience. I don't think a Christian school should be promoting things that are not godly and can still teach without subjecting the students to things that are not helpful.

It's not about being a Calvinist or Arminian. It's about being a Christian. Granted I side more with Reformed.
