Texas judge under fire over discipline video

If you did what this man did, you along with him should be locked up.

 

I guess I was abused. I was spanked with a belt by my father and a yard stick (bare bottom) by my mother. I didn't like it one bit, but I know I deserved it.

I'm not trying to be on either side, but last night Fox news reported that the father got custody of the girl after her mother divorced him.

 

I don't intend to watch it any further, but based on your posts and others, he probably crosses some lines.. My overall objections go to the societal movement that says spanking is abuse.. IMO, 99+% of spankings are both good and proper. And spanking or switching or paddling today is a loosing proposition, sponsored by satan, and furthered by misdirected people, resulting in spoiled, ungrateful, selfish and insatiable children, and self indulgent adults.

 

Why would you aim that condemnation at me? You could say that about or to anyone.
I told you what I did, and the extent of my knowledge of the video.

 

I remember what James Dobson said years ago, concerning the time he had to sit on a panel viewing pornography, and hearing his thoughts and mindset as a result.. It confirmed in my mind, the need to not put my eyes on things unwholesome if I had a choice.

I've already taken your word that the beating is horrendous.. My spanks were never more than 5 or so, and usually only 2 or 3. What decides the numbers, is the child's outlook or attitude..

 

I watched the video. The man was totally out of control. There no love envolved in that. He is a coward and a bully that has no place in a position of authority. I say coward because he wouldn't dare use that kind of attitude on someone who was on equal terms with him and could and would stand up to his type of abuse. Like me!

 

This is complete bull crap. I am deeply sympathetic of this guy's kids.

 

This post makes it seem he is not married. If so, what a freaking shock.

If he is, I hope she leaves the life of abuse in which she suffers.

 

I was only commiting on what you said. I support spanking, just ask my two grown children. I even used a belt, but I didn't curse them and scream at them and hit them as this man did in the video. Perhaps you didn't see all of it or you did not see the video I saw which included the sound. If this is the case I apologize.

 

I read an update to this story in the paper this morning and immediately thought of this thread.

I wouldn't respect someone who abused me verbally and physically during my childhood. This guy is a sick son-of-a-gun.

And so are you, freeatlast. You are an ill, deluded, perverted, evil and self-righteous idiot who, if you have ever tasted the grace of Christ, does not in any way, shape or form, show it to people. I hope you aren't married. If you are, I hope your wife comes to her senses and realizes you are a sick abuser and gets away from you fast. I pray to God you don't have any children, but if you do, they are no doubt permanently scarred from the full wrath of your chemically-deficient brain. May God have mercy on them and any with whom to share your "faith." You are a sorry excuse for an image-bearer. I pray for healing and restoration for you, but most of all, for those close to you.

Either change your ways or crawl under a rock so you won't do any further damage.

My dad had rhythm...one spank per syllable, "don't...you...ever..let...me...catch...you....doing....that...."

Probably how I chose my vocation.

What in God's glorious name makes you think this kind of baseless, ignorant response is helpful or remotely Christian?
