Guitar---we need to be careful how we define the "box" here

You see---a call to repent of sins is by God's grace

A call to receive Jesus as Savior and Lord is by God's grace

A call out of Egypt is by God's grace

A call into the Land of Promise is by God's grace

But all in all---a call to salvation by grace through faith is a call UNTO righteousness and holiness and a call for a full departure from the things of the world. It is a call to obedience and self denial and is a call to "come and die"---and a call to "touch not the unclean thing"

I'm not willing to concede that it's a stricter standard. Woefully misguided would be a better discription. But I'm all for expanding my vocabulary, so help me out with a new word so I can be more original.

In the mean time, if you guage your faith by who and what you rail against, I call that legalistic.

I call it legalistic too. And most unfortunate. guitarpreacher and I would not lie to you. The only time I can recall any breast tissue was a brief scene of a young girl with tiny knots. All of the adults were completely wrapped. No cleavage or anything. You would see more at the local Mcdonalds any given day. The saddest thing is how so many are willing too judge things they have not really gotten the facts on, and often based on internet rumor. That is not just legalism, that is sin.

My issue isn't the amount of flesh shown in the film. It is the carnality of the production company in choosing the proactive homosexual. The flesh issue might be offensive to some people, however, when I see teenagers with midriffs at church services and scooped out tight tops and shorts, I realize that we live in a society in which anything goes and Baptist churches no longer seem to have any standards for much of anything anymore. :(

Interestingly though, when I was a missionary kid in Africa, (so long ago), one of the first things the natives did when they got saved was to cover up and put on clothes, real clothes. Our Western society has regressed to the point where loin cloths will probably be acceptable attire in church in the not too distant future. Yes, some people would call me a legalist.

But, as my father used to say (who is now with the Lord), usually when a stone is thrown into a pack of dogs, the one that gets hit is the one who yelps the loudest.

I was going to see it last week, but plans got busy. I probably won't see it until next week some time.

I'm not having dinner with Mrs Elliot. I'm having dinner with good friends (and past missionary associates) of the Elliots and Saints.

And no, I'm not a journalist. I will not conduct an interview or factfinding session. LE has apparantly decided that Elliot's approval must mean that she's not informed. Because according to LE, if she were informed, she'd be against it if she were a faithful Christian. In other words, LE's mind is already made up, regardless of what the Elliot and Saint families think. LE is entitled to her opinion and conviction. I respect that. But I'm not foolish enough to take the bait.

God forbid I simply have dinner with some friends and hear their testimony, and just enjoy their fellowship and company. Can I not be permitted that? I almost wish I had not said anything.
Interestingly, in this case, the ones doing the loudest yelping are the ones throwing stones.

Wow, you sure are assuming a lot, doncha think?

It seems to me the ones doing the most yelping are the ones defending the movie and casting and production company. But like you said, everyone is entitled to their opinion. And that's mine.

You're certainly entitled to your opinion, despite the copious posts that prove otherwise.

Look, folks, perhaps this is a good time to give this thread a reast. Certainly, no minds are going to be changed here. I am definitely growing weary of my faith in Christ being questioned in threads like this. I'm sure I'm not the only one.

And still, SFC fails to acknowlege his previous error.

    Au Contrair,

I have acknowledged my error. The Holy Spirit convicted me of my errors and my sins, I have repented. That is one of the reasons I stand against the 'End of the Spear'.

It's hard for them to see their error when they have their fingers in theirs ears screaming, "I'M RIGHT I'M RIGHT I'M RIGHT!"

You can put up all the silly little chalkboard you want, but the fact remains that you posted information containing error, and you have not acknowleged your error. This speaks volumes to your credibility, regardless of your stance on the topic.

I have not posted error on this thread at all. I have spoken to many who have seen the movie and have attested to the nudity and the partial nudity.
