Me, too. It's quite unbelievable. La-la land. </font>[/QUOTE]Didn't someone just credit you with never being belittling in your post, LE? Were they mistaken?

Dragon Naturally Speaking is a very good program. It makes fewer and fewer mistakes the more you train with it. It retails for around 80 dollars, I believe. Which is a lot more affordable than the original DragonDictate Voice Recognition program that cost a whopping 700 dollars back in 95.

But unto the wicked God saith, What hast thou to do to declare my statutes, or that thou shouldest take my covenant in thy mouth? Seeing thou hatest instruction, and castest my words behind thee. Psalm 50:16-17. -
Here are 2 different viewpoints and reviews of End of the Spear from two Christian leaders who with intelligent arguments pro and con on the film.

My purpose in posting in this thread is not to critic this film.....for I have neither seen this movie nor read much about it.
Nor am I trying to change anyones conviction on this movie. ( That is God's business)
But feel led to give a little food for thought upon matters like this.
First of all in my short 63 years of living on this earth I have found one truth..
That the entertainment media has two basic motives for their bringing out such as this....
A. To make money
B. To entertain the public
Secondly in my forty some years of trying to serve the Lord after He saved my wretched soul, is that He has graciously given us guide lines to deal with such matters as this. Let me give you just a few of the many scriptures found in His word that we should ponder when making decisions pertaining to such matters.
1.First lets hear the wise words of a great man of God in the Old Testament... Although they did not have such things as movies back then...If you will study the book of Ecclesiastes. You will see that he was confronted with simular matters.
Ecc. 12: 13- 13 Let us hear the conclussion 0f the whole matter: Fear God and keep His commandments: for this is the whole duty of man. For God shall bring every work into judgement, with every secret thing, weither it be good or it be evil."
Secondly let us ponder Ephesians 3:21.."Unto Him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus throughot all ages, world without end.
And lastly Let us look at Pauls admonishment (through the spirits guidance) to us in II Thess. 5:21-22 " Prove all things; hold fast to that which is good. Abastain from all appearance of evil"
These are just three guidelines That God has given us to help us deal with such a case as is being dealt with in this thread... I' me sure there are many more that we can find if we try.
Folks let Him guide our paths upon this earth...not our own thoughts and theories of rights and wrongs.
God bless ya all, and remember ... "Unto Him be the Glory" -
Okay, everyone.
If you want to go see it, then see it. If you don't, then don't. Kindly refrain from judging your brother because his decision on the film may be different than yours. If you saw it and your brother refuses to, permit him his liberty to refrain. Likewise, if you refuse to see it and your brother sees it, permit him also his liberty to see it.
I don't think this movie is worthy of spawning numerous threads and posts numbering in the hundreds. It's an indicator that we as Christians are perhaps a bit too idle. -

I agree with Brother Steve and Boanerges....
We need to judge righteous judgment and judge the movie by the Word of God. What saith the Lord? -
I reiterate: If you want to go see it, then see it. If you don't, then don't. Kindly refrain from judging your brother because his decision on the film may be different than yours. If you saw it and your brother refuses to, permit him his liberty to refrain. Likewise, if you refuse to see it and your brother sees it, permit him also his liberty to see it.
As for the previous "lukewarm" comment, that's just an infantile smokescreen meant to deflect that validity of the previous comment rather than acknowlege it. -
I think that all the Christians who paid money to this company, so that they could make a movie that gave the homosexual movement a platform with the press, are the real people who received "The end of the spear" so to speak.
-
I respect your opinion on this matter, Boanerges, but I disagree. I don't think less of you, however, for your opinion. Unfortunately, those who agree with me are often thought less of by those who agree with you. Unfortunate, but true.

I cannot understand why there is not more Pastors
speaking out about the movie The End of the Spear. In my church SBC (6000 members)the pastor and staff are very noncommital. The only persons making a statement are the SS Teachers and they have all been favorable. Is it not the "shepards"
responsibility to look after the sheep? -
Seriously, thanks for those links. -
It is the shepherd's responsibility, yes. Unfortunately, many are choked on the cares of the world because they are not feasting enough on the Word of God.
-
Amen.
With no vision, the people perish. -
I'm curious, has Elisabeth Elliot spoken about the movie one way or the other?
If this has already been discussed, I apologize. I haven't noticed any mention of her. -
rlvaugn, supposedly she has seen the movie, but I have not heard her comments
