Hey rlvaughn, I'll take the rap with you. Yes, I only use the King James because of what I trust as being properly translated from the inspired originals... However these guys (1) & (2) Dr. Bob mentioned do take it way too far in my humble opinion, although (2) has gone on to be with the Lord. Hey, that makes me a #3 sort of guy, doesn't it?

Note that the Calvinists have returned to making false claims to disparage and avoid actual discussion of doctrine.

Once saved, always saved is biblical doctrine. Christ died for all and not just the elect is biblical doctrine. Our individual election for salvation is conditional, for we were chosen through faith in the truth.

You seem to not really understand what calvinism teaches!

I did not know that any version of the Bible was called the Lord/Saviour!

Sadly, some elevate their chosen English translation of God's Word as if it were Lord or Savior. Remember a "pastor's school" where the choir sang about the "where is the rock-made-without-hands" (Messianic prophecy) and down the aisle paraded men carrying a huge Styrofoam Bible with KJV printed on it. Choir immediately started whooping and pointed at the giant KJV and sang "THIS is the rock".

Saw the video and wanted to throw up. Reminded me of pagan Mexicans carrying statues of the blessed virgin as their "god".

Yet another attempt at disparagement, devoid of any argument against OSAS, Christ dying for all mankind, and our individual election for salvation being conditional - through faith in the truth.

As the Press Secretary observed - Crickets.

Reminds me of time was invited to Ibf church founding, and was just told to make sure have on best suit and a Kjv, but the keynote address was by local police chief, read the dedication prayer of Solomon for His temple, and that was done in the Niv, and the look on the Pastor and Elders would be as if they heard the Koran being read!

Obviously no one wants to offer arguments that challenge OSAS, or Christ dying for all mankind, or our individual election for salvation being conditional - through faith in the truth.

So we get change of subject questions.

I think progressive dispensationalism is valid.

I think the sign and wonder gifts ceased with the biblical authors.

Premillennial. Pretribularional. I believe that the church exists on earth during the tribulation though. I am dispensational.

I don't believe in cessationism although my church does.

The lords supper should be observed every Sunday.

I don't believe in sola scriptura. sola scriptura is a Lutheran doctrine.

I believe all manuscripts are valid or plausible and theology should choose what manuscript is more valid over another.

I am neither Calvinist or Armenian.

Old earth; gap theory. Death existed before adam was created.

Just not in this forum. If you want to debate those topics, do so in the CvA Forum.

Could you clarify? By pretribulational, I presume you mean that the Church will be raptured before a Great Tribulation...so by saying the church will exist during this tribulation do you mean those who would later become Christians?

Thinking the same Anerlogios - how does one claim pre-trib rapture of the Church (it's gone) and then that it is still here?

I see that people STILL aren't talking to Van. Not much changes when I'm gone for 10 months :) :)

And you won't get an argument from me (as a cessationist and a progressive dispensationalist) about areas on which you ARE correct in doctrine.
