Know both cals/Arms affirm that
Humans are sinners
Christ died for the sins of his saved peoples
Gospel sent forth to lost sinners
Don't Cals see God as Ultimate source of Salvation, As he direct elects his own, while Arms see us as final authority, as we can refuse to accept what God offers unto us in Cross of Jesus?
Why is such a "big deal" if God decided to use either His direct ordaining Will to base Election on, or by His Foreknowledge of what we would choose to do?
Wouldn't both "acts" result in one becoming a Christian?
What is biig difference between these 2 views than?
Curious about them, as both have been referenced here on BB, but never really heard of either one?
or do you see it as teaching what the Bible promotes?
Just curious as to how this system of theology is viewed by regular posters here on BB!
He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that disbelieveth shall be condemned. Mk 16:16
Yes or no; are the words 'saved' and 'condemned' in Mk 16:16 referring to eternal consequences (e.g. 'saved from eternity burning in hell' or 'condemned to eternity burning in hell')?
If yes, can you build a case from scripture to prove it?
( I hope to discuss also other 'eternal consequence' passages on this thread; Mk 16:16 seems a good place to start)
I vote no. I don't...
I've recently heard the term "open theism" and am wondering what it is. Is it the idea that God doesn't know the future? What Scripture, if any, supports this idea?
Also, assuming it is the idea that God doesn't know the future, why would someone assert such?
Many thanks for the thoughtful answers.
It's not just me. Many of my friends and family have noticed what seems like an attack of hatefulness rearing its ugly head in the body of Christ. I've noticed it on the rise in churches, ministries, and even here on BB. I know this is a debate forum and things get heated, but lately, it's getting harder and harder to find true Christian love anywhere!
Seriously, I'm on several other NON-CHRISTIAN forums where people are more respectful and behave better than the Christians. I don't...
I am doing a 9 part series on ecclesiology beginning next week. Here are two famous quotes that I wondered what others thought and if they agreed:
“He can no longer have God for his Father, who has not the church for his mother.” “There is no salvations out[side] of the church.”
“he can no longer have God for his Father, who has not the church for his mother. If anyone could escape who was outside the ark of Noah, then he also may escape who shall be outside the...
