I have been advised to include a link to our website here; in your votes and posts, I hope you will not only take into account what you read there but also what I have posted on this forum:

Are there NO Arminians here, JUST cals/non cals?
As there seems to be just those holding to some degree of the DoG, and others having full free will...

2 Services of Different Styles?
Is it a good and Biblically sound practice to divide a church into two services based ONLY on the desire to have two different music styles (one Traditional, one Contemporary)? This is assuming there is not a need to do this based on running out of space in the sanctuary, or any reason like that. -
Regeneration
When are believers saved? When they believe, or when God puts them spiritually in Christ after crediting their faith as righteousness?
When are we made alive, before God puts us in Christ, or when we are together with Christ?
My reading of scripture says we are saved when God puts us in Christ after crediting our faith as righteousness. When we are put in Christ, then we are made alive, regenerated.
If we are separated from Christ, we are dead in our trespasses and sins, and... -
The Wedding Feast at Cana
There is no doubt in my mind that Jesus created fine wine (alcoholic) and not grape juice at Cana. We can debate that if you like but I'd like to explore the nature of the wedding feast.
I have heard teaching that the Jewish wedding and feast (wedding reception) of the days of Jesus took place over several days. The basis for this belief is Gen. 29:27. This makes sense to me since it was unlikely that the wedding would run out of wine on the same day of the wedding. Also it would explain... -
Do Baptists Allow for 'Speaking in Tongues?"
is that allowed at all?
is it a case of each church decided that issue, or is there an official position for SBC, general baptists, Free Will etc? -
“The doctrine of baptisms” (Hebrews 6:1-2)
Hebrews 6:1-2
Therefore, leaving the discussion of the elementary principles of Christ,
let us go on to perfection, not laying again the foundation
of repentance from dead works and
of faith toward God,
of the doctrine of baptisms (plural),
of laying on of hands,
of resurrection of the dead, and
of eternal judgment.
This kind of throws a monkey-wrench into the theory of only “one baptism” (Ephesians 4:5)!
There are several theories about what Paul was talking about, which can be... -
Acts 2:38 and the baptism in the Spirit
36 Therefore let all the house of Israel know assuredly, that God hath made that same Jesus, whom ye have crucified, both Lord and Christ.
37 ¶ Now when they heard this, they were pricked in their heart, and said unto Peter and to the rest of the apostles, Men and brethren, what shall we do?
38 Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.

The Fathers Will
Matthew 7:13
[ The Narrow and Wide Gates ] “Enter through the narrow gate. For wide is the gate and broad is the road that leads to destruction, and many enter through it.14 But small is the gate and narrow the road that leads to life, and only a few find it.
Matthew 26:39
Going a little farther, he fell with his face to the ground and prayed, “My Father, if it is possible, may this cup be taken from me. Yet not as I will, but as you will.”
Matthew 26:42
He went away a second time and... -
Baptist distinctives and other denominations
In what other denominations, if any, could one find the following Baptist distinctives: Soul freedom, Bible freedom, church freedom, believer's baptism by immersion, symbolism of the ordinances, lay-administered ordinances allowed for, priesthood of THE believer. I know there are denominations that have one or more of these, but I don't know of any that have them all -- except ours, the CAC.
But I mean large, long-established denominations.
