I learned this code from Dan Brown...
I've enjoyed my time on the baptist board these past few months, however, there is something rather puzzling to me as it seems as if baptists are in the minority here on the board. There appears to be a lot of non-denominationalists here, as well as Catholics and others. It seems to take away from the title of the site, and more or less turns it into another Christian forum. Can this really be considered a baptist site with so many non-baptists on here? Can helpful baptist discussions be had with so many non-baptists here (I know that there are many different branches of baptists)? Just curious as to the thoughts of the rest of my fellow baptists on this matter.

Calvinist vs Arminian. One or the other is Dead wrong. Wrong is wrong. One group or the other is as wrong as the majority of what you listed.I have always wondered why we have as a part of the Board areas where those into advocating heresy of the Church of Rome, WoF, and sda keep on posting away!

One or the other is wrong. That is my point. Which one is not pertinent here. The point is that a wrong doctrine is accepted under the Baptist Umbrella.Arminian/free-willer/anti-Cal/etc is our 'default position' from being raised in a merit oriented world. Most 'Calvinists' began as 'Arminian'. The idea of 'the free gift' of eternal life is foreign to us merit oriented creatures and takes time to assimilate.
One or the other is wrong. That is my point.
One is no more doctrinally advanced than the other. One is more 'advanced' doctrinally than the other, that is my point.

Graduate of Phillips Exeter Academy and close friend of Robert Langdon.
I am a Baptist with Charismatic leanings, so it does not bother me.
Can you float me a loan?Tell you what - suppose 2 or 3 people start a new Board - of course you will have to bear all the coast associated with it - then you can make your own rules!
Okay - who is the first one to step up????

Can we get Pentacostal from that verse?Well I'm sure the Baptist appreciate it, give them something to show their friends... And it is true you did show me Baptist but they are not one only ones there!... Brother Glen
John 10:15 As the Father knoweth me, even so know I the Father: and I lay down my life for the sheep.
16 And other sheep I have, which are not of this fold: them also I must bring, and they shall hear my voice; and there shall be one fold, and one shepherd.

This is one argument that baffles me, in a baptist thread. Why are we arguing calvin vs arminian. I was a baptist all my life. I reject both views.. and no baptist I know agrees with either.Calvinist vs Arminian. One or the other is Dead wrong. Wrong is wrong. I am pointing out that Baptists selectively decide which hills they will die on when it comes to what is and is not "false doctrine".This is one argument that baffles me, in a baptist thread. so why are we trying t pit two groups as if one of them is right and one is wrong. when they are both wrong?

Holding to essential doctrines of the Faithdefine "Baptist"
Or....both could be wrong.Calvinist vs Arminian. One or the other is Dead wrong. Wrong is wrong. One group or the other is as wrong as the majority of what you listed.
