Well, it was bad. No one came for lunch. Every offer was turned down. The good side was that I had several invites out for lunch. With over fifty years ministering, I have a book full of stories. Could I call the book: Home, Home on the Range.?

Good morning to one and all. Sorry to have you off with my Cockney language. As you might know, we speak in rhyme in East London. Instead of stairs we say apple and pears..the last word of rhyme rhmes with the intended word..hence pears and stairs. Now, to further confuse we often just use the first word of the rhyme so the uninitiated can't figure out the rhyme...so, going apples.......Going apples to visit uncle ted is simply going upstairs to bed.

Sorry those photos have disappeared...that is a mystery, isn't it?

I've already confessed that I'm rotten with languages and here you guys are giving me another one to figure out and ARGH!!! it's English even.

Thanks Roger,,,Now we will have more questions..One cannot see my Jim Prescott either or my Gordon and Gotch. By the way, it is usally "bag of fruit", but when we are really classed up it's "alderman's"....Now back to speaking that modern slang we dare to call English....*smile*

Mc..you ought to be there when a bunch of Cockneys are together..worst part is, we mumble and speak quickly too. Especially when we go johnny to china's house to rabbit on until dog barks or westminister clangs out 12.

Would it be "The Queen's English"? Or Would Her Majesty have trouble understanding also?

 

Actually, Gayla, the Queen luvs Cockney Rhyme and she stops everything to view Coronation Street, which is supposed to be classic East London.

It's early evening and I came in for a cuppa. I've got some vanilla since Roger mentioned it (and he said it in real English so I got it). ;) It's a syrup but sugarfree. Pretty yummy.

I'm really enjoying my spring break and all the time for visiting it's allowed.

 

OH, and I should have said that I've enjoyed sleeping late and reading and rearranging furniture and cooking dinner every night and sitting around doing nothing . . .

 

Sometimes we accomplish more doing nothing than when we are so busy at nothing...Now there is a piece of English,,lol
