and ever since! God's Word can NEVER change, God has instructed those who listen as to what we are to do, while others are more concerned with the world and its Liberal ways. If some could, they would also banish hell!

if murder is punishable by death in the New Testament, and it is, then this surpasses the Law of Moses.

that is not my point. this, like a host of other sins are under, what is The Law of Moses, like the rest of them, they are moral and therefore binding on us today. we can't pick and choose which ones we punish, as it is not up to us, but the Lord.

I don't even know what to say. The call to grace and forgiveness is glaringly evident, as is the instruction that we are no longer under the law.

21 Then came Peter to him, and said, Lord, how oft shall my brother sin against me, and I forgive him? till seven times?
22 Jesus saith unto him, I say not unto thee, Until seven times: but, Until seventy times seven.
    Matt 18:21-22

which Bible tells you that? The Moral Law from the Law of Moses, as well as the Ten Commandments, minus the Sabbath Day, are still in force today. Show me otherwise!

"7 What then shall we say? That the law is sin? By no means! Yet if it had not been for the law, I would not have known sin. For I would not have known what it is to covet if the law had not said, “You shall not covet.” 8 But sin, seizing an opportunity through the commandment, produced in me all kinds of covetousness. For apart from the law, sin lies dead." (Romans 7, etc)

more and more countries around the world that once had their laws based on the Word of God, like here in England and the USA, are abandoning these principles, and following their own foolish ways instead. Society is being destroyed by "laws" that now permit sinful living, like homosexuality, and abortion, because people argue that they too have "rights". There are groups in Europe that wants pedophilia and incest made legal, because they also have "rights". It won't be long before these and other evil things are allowed as normal. Please don't use this wicked and evil world as a "standard" as to what is right and wrong. The Holy Bible must be our final Authority.

I am obeying the Word of God. 1Tim 1:15-6 gives Christians a clear command. We are to follow the example of our Lord Jesus Christ to show mercy to the worst of sinners, especially murderers like Paul.

You claim I am ignoring scripture or I am mis-reading 1 Tim, but you haven’t given any other possible understanding of that passage.

    peace to you

It is not up to Christians to “punish” crimes. God has established governments for that. Christians are to follow the example of Jesus by showing mercy.

    peace to you

so Christians who are leaders of countries, or even states as in the US, where the death penalty is used, should disobey the Word of the Lord? Your personal opinion is at odds with the Bible! No need to discuss this further, as you are not too interested in what the Bible ACTUALLY says.

misusing this for your personal benefit. The Bible has NO contradictions, which means what Paul says here, can NEVER be in direct disagreement with The Moral Law of Almighty God, which very clearly says, to those who want to listen, that ALL murder must be punished by death. Period!
