Most will miss it
We live in a nation that murders the unborn (almost 60,000,000 to date since 1973), perverts God's covenant of marriage, as well as God's created order of male and female. Life is no longer sacred. Authorities, politicians, pundits, and our fellow citizens will debate the possible motivations of the gunman in the Sutherland Springs, TX shooting. They will look for clues as to what ties this mass shooting to other similar tragedies. But as they look for answers they will not ask the right... -
Kurds Must Rise
So I will tell you what IsaiahI13 is all about and its a real ride into the FUTURE so hang on to your hat!!We will start with real time events >
Iraqi government forces and the Tehran-backed Popular Mobilisation launched a surprise offensive on Oct. 16 in retaliation to the Sept. 25 independence referendum organized by the KRG.
The offensive aims to capture disputed territories, claimed by both the KRG and the Iraqi central government, as well as border crossings and oil facilities. MMM so... -
How much/often can a Christian sin?
A recent thread inspires this poll. Perhaps, for some, it is a revisiting of certain basic doctrines we may have thought we had settled in our minds, and it's less changing any doctrine than about recharacterizing such.
After all, with an almighty God, who is not bound by time, is there (to Him) any difference between living a life of sin and A) losing one's salvation, and B) never having been saved in the first place? Or is it only to us humans that there is any difference at all?... -
Faithful Word Baptist Church
Do you want to join the FWBC faithbook page? ( Steve Anderson, pastor),
you must answer three questions:
1. Why do you want to join FWBC Listeners?
2. Are you born again? Explain how.
3. Where do you go to church? (Full name, city, and denomination)
Would you consider those as reasonable questions to prospective members to join your page?

Free will and the gospel
When a sinner is listening to a precise clear gospel message and comes to the realization of his lost state and that he can offer nothing to God. The moment that the word of God is working in the sinners heart showing the sinner of his total depravity. In this moment that the word of God is working on him convicting him of his lost condition. The sinner responds in his heart that everything that was stated in this precise presentation of the gospel message is 100% true. He realizes he... -
Reasons for the 2nd Coming of Christ
There have been more threads on preterism than ever before on the BB. Unfortunately for full preterists, they won't be able to cogently post on this thread, since they believe the 2nd Coming happened spiritually in AD 70. So to them it's over and done with, nothing left (a very bleak position).
On the other hand, to us premillennialists as well as those with an amil or post mil position, the Coming of Christ is still future, the "future hope" of the church of Jesus Christ.
In a recent... -
Theory of atonement, do you have one?
I am not giving full and complete details of every theory of atonement, but merely doing a very brief statement of a few just to allow the reader to get an overview of some highlights and tease some to think.
Generally it is accepted that the early church basically taught that there was some price owed to God or Satan which had to be paid in order for salvation to take place.
Personally, I consider such a ransom paid is basic extortion, and counter to the revealed character and nature... -
Is there a final authority?
When is something so unorthodox that it can be a heresy?
When does the pastor/teacher publicly denounce a view or thinking does not conform to Scripture?
For example:
To the Papist, any Protestant Church is heretical.
To the Protestant, the denial of ”Scriptures alone” is heretical - used to be.
To the Baptist, baptistim is a picture, but to the Church of Christ it is a must to attain.
To the Amillinialism folks, literal is in the eye of interpretation, to the classic... -
Worship
Does actual physical posture play a necessary role or any role in worship?
The last third, of the 14th chapter of Matthew, records the scene of walking on water.
Because most are very familiar with the account, it isn't necessary to restate the events.
The focus of the thread is what happened when the disciples worshipped.
The original word (translated worship) indicates the worship as one doing obeisance. Bowed with head against the flooring of the boat. Not dissimilar in posture... -
Can one live sinless?
This is a subject that separates many churches and even Christians within the same denomination. One's salvation can be at stake if he/she does not understand this subject well. Along with the subject thread here are four questions to tag with the subject:
1. Does God expect Christians to live a sinless life?
2. Does God expect Christians to live holy?
3. Does Jesus Christ expect a sinner to go on sinning until death?
4. Can a born again person live a sinless life?
